Blumats with Organic Nutrients

Had my Maxi Blumats set up for about 4 weekz. Really awesome product! And im already seeing the benefits in time saved and growth in my current run.

Use these in my reservoir:

hydroponic guano, fulvic, mycorrcin (which is a bio stimulator extract) and a hydroponic brix/seaweed blend. No blockages so far. I figure if everything is fine for hydroponicz..i shouldnt have an issue. Read a few reportz of not running organic nutrients through..so i guess ill find out.

Anywayz...wondering who else is currently running them @Rrog and what they put through theirs.

i run no till, but since i run in 2 and 5 gallon pots...i still need a little top up with nutrients (and i can be lazy with top dressing) so blumat delivery is where im at.

Also...what would H2O2 do to my micro herd if i put it in the reservoir..?

Sort of with @GreenSanta in his opinion of dumping out soil and reamending (in smaller potz) OR the need for a good rest and topdress bewteen runs. I alwayz have extra pots to rest and scrape the top of the soil for more room and leave outside.

Still dialing in this aspect.

Anywayz..i digress...back to it.. !

Well i think it really dependz on the additive. Maybe stay away from heavy, thick additives... i dont use soluble seaweed... and only use hydroponic 'approved' nutrients.

I give my reservoir sides a brush everytime i top up...so nothing is lingering.

Also add epsom salts.. :)

I used blumats to get a break on watering my last grow. All super soil and was just top dressing. I added organic calmag to my ro water, no issues. Are you aerating your res? I didnt aerate mine, got some goo that was always floating in the res....didnt cause any noticable issues but didnt start with the blumats until midway thru flower. I was using 10-15 gal pots and needed 3 carrots per pot and still was hand watering every so often. They seemed to do much better with a constant drip plus watering every couple days vs just watering every other day or everyday as needed.

Im just circulating my reseviour with a submersible pump...seemz to keep everything nice and moving.

Thanks for your input. What organic calmag are you using..?

Just gen organics...which i have read is basically some kind of mollases mix. I use it lightly ~5ml per gal, plenty of calcium and magnesium in my mix but watering with strait ro causes the mag def ime.

The H2O2 wont kill the soil bacteria if you're putting it in your res, it's very unstable and the extra oxygen atom gases off very quickly to become H2O. It will kill any micro-organisms in your res though, which may be a bad thing because the bad micro-organisms are the ones that repopulate the fastest.

Keeping nutrients that are even designed for hydroponic systems in a res can cause slimes, blockages and root rot. This is what turned me to organics in the first place, I was battling slime in a DWC set up with h2o2 and it was costing me a fortune, so I found these forums and ditched my hydro set ups.

I've no experience in this, but I'd imagine you'd have to find a way of keeping the good micro-organisms alive and balanced within your res. Have a look at this thread https://www.rollitup.org/t/organic-dwc-drip-using-compost-tea.909491/#post-12612887 and maybe have a chat with @ledder , cos what you're trying to achieve sounds similar to organic hydro.

If it was my set up, I wouldn't put anything but water in the res for blumat's, how often do you need to be adding nutrients anyway?
If you do need to add nutes it'd be better to water them in by hand IMO, then you wont have to worry about h202 or pipe clogs and system cleaning.

do some readings around the pressence/absence of catalase enzyme in your microherd. Most decomposers can hold it (h2o2) pretty well but u'll prolly need to restore the microflora matrix in the way greensanta told you, thats a nice routine to implement right after ripping the top soil.

I guess itz inevitable that there are gonna be microbes growing in my res..but not really my aim. I think my microherd is fine as it is. This is just a way to have a supply of nutrients + water as the plantz need (the beauty of blumatz)

So not really worried at this stage about blockages as i havent seen any problemz.

Yeah...true. But until i see a mass exodus of wormz from my binz...that is what i will gauge as a marker for a salt heavy product. There maybe damage to my microherd..but it will be replenished...topdressing etc

No no...its no till soil...3rd ish round... but some of my potz are only 2 gallon...which is tricky for no till (i believe..)

So i put nutrientz through my Blumats to 'top up'

Stemz are really sturdy though...thankz :)
