Blunts and siezures

So last night i was over at my buddies house chillin, i had been there for maybe 10 minutes and im sittin there talkin to him while lookin down and rollin a blunt and i started hearing a really weird sound come from him but he is a dj and beet boxes alot so i didnt think anything of it and i just kept talkin and rollin the blunt and then i felt him kick me and i looked up and he had fallen on the ground and started having a really crazy siezure and was slammin his head into the ground and his safe and i started freakin out cause i have never seen a siezure and so with my phone i was franticly calling his girlfriend so she could tell me what to do and on his phone i was calling his mom franticly to try and figure out what the hell im supposed to do... Keep in mind he had hella parefanaila all over the place and he sells alittle herb sometimes so i didnt want to call 911 and have a rush of cops and medical officials bust into his house while there is alot of incriminating stuff around. But on the same token i didnt know what the fuck to do and i didnt want just watch my friend get super fucked up and so i eventually got a hold of his mom and she left work and rushed over there to help me, i ended up hiding everything that was out so we could call an ambulance to come get him.

If you havnt ever seen a siezure in real life i promise you dont want to.

for some crazy reason this year i had a couple seizures... randomly... and for no reason.. well at least the doctors couldnt figure one out.. i personally think it was stress related... had a bunch of fucked up things happened this year that stressed me to the point i couldnt sleep... and yea.. i think i just crashed and the seizures were the result... anyways... both times it happened my girl friend was here thankfully.. but for the longest time she couldnt sleep because everytime i moved or shook at all at night it would freak her out.. its been about 6 or 7 months now and she still freaks out over little things i do, like shake if i yawn or even just zone out (i apparently did that right before i had 1)... she says, like you said, its one of the most fucked up things to see...

I have yet to see one but I imagine the mixture of a person you love or care for involuntarily convulsing on the ground and not knowing what to do would be very stressful to say the least. I probably woulda just called 911 and turned into Flash while I ran around the place hiding everything, I overthink shit too much and if its something I dont understand at all I wouldnt really take a chance.. Glad the situation worked out an your buddy is okay.

Simpson sorry to hear that, hopefully thats the last one you will have to endur and it really was one of the most unpleasent things to see!


Vtguy, yeah it was a scary situation cause it is a really good friends, someone i chill with on a daily basis. Ya i def would have called 911 if i wouldnt have gotten ahold of his mom, no way i could watch a friend go through something like that and not do anything about it.

Speaks the truth. My older brother [who is moderately mentally retarded] has frequent seizures [about once or twice a month]. He's been on five different seizure drugs, some of them plain don't work, some of them stop the seizures and turn him into an animal and much unlike himself, now he's on one that stops all of his seizures unless he has a particularly exciting day [whether it's good or bad], and he'll have a seizure when we travel for example, or he has a really good or really bad day, or if he hangs out with someone who he hasn't seen for a while [a lot of the time, me], or again, randomly.

The worst part of his seizures which usually last about 5 minutes are the ten minutes after he's done thrashing where he makes the sounds of an animal in extreme pain, tries to form words, but can't, leaving us wondering if this will be the one that he never comes back from.

Just for future reference... if someone starts having a bad seizure, grab a wallet (or something they can't swallow) and put it between their teeth so they don't bite their tongue.

Maybe this will be a good place to post some steps to take when someone is having a seizure. Turn them on their side, don't stick your hand in their mouth, they don't know what they are doing, and biting your finger off would be a neutral stimulus [like everything else around them, sadly] but maybe try to find something LARGE that won't go all the way in their mouth [a t-shirt or towel should work] to stop them from biting their tongue. Protect their head and whatever else is going all over the place from injury if you can. Try to get assistance from others around, make sure their airways remain clear. Beware of aftershocks, seizures will often appear to end and begin again up to a minute later with the same intensity as the peak. If the seizure lasts too long they will need an ambulance. Otherwise about an hour after a seizure should just include pain from overuse of the muscles, any confusion or slurring of the words more than an hour later, you should more than likely check a hospital. Also, slapping the shit out of someone or drenching them in water is not going to snap them out of it during their peak seizure. It may be more beneficial after they're done thrashing though. Make sure to keep reminding them who you are and who they are, as someone coming out of a seizure just lost total connection with reality, and someone slapping them or splashing them with water may be perceived as a threat. I'm not a professional, but I deal with seizures a lot in the home, and if you have a correction you can go ahead and tell me.

Dude, a similiar situation happened to me not too long ago.
I was over at this guys house (I met him at work, and he invited me over for a smoke cuz it turned out we lived in the same apartment complex) so I went over and was having a smoke with him.
He didnt know, but I pulled out a bag of some nice kush and he was like oh shit I haven't blazed in a long time.
I rolled up the dub, and we smoked it... (only like .7 cuz I know he doesnt blaze too much) and then like 2 seconds after the joint was out he was staring at the wall... blankly.. I thought he was just really high.
I was like brad, are u ok? And then he just keeled over and started having a seizure... My sister has epilepsy so I know what seizures look like, but I was BAKED, really fucking baked cuz I smoked a joint like 10 minutes before going over there to smoke another one.
I started freaking out so I put my buster and my papers and everything back into my bag, and got my shoes on (I didn't know him too well, and he was like literally dying on the floor) so I ran outside and I saw his neighbors who were moving and packing shit into a truck, and I was like yo he's in here having a seizure and he's fucking dying or something..

The guy looked at me and was like wtf? and then he dropped the box and came running.... first thing he said was "YOU GUYS SMOKIN DOPE IN HERE?" and I was like oh fuck, and then his wife came and she was trying to help him cuz she was a nurse or some shit and the guy was like K we need an ambulance here so he went and called 911... and I was just standing in the doorway watching.... and he was like you don't go anywhere, when the cops get here your gonna be in trouble for having dope and all this shit... so I stood around for like another minute or two and when he turned his back to go inside the house I just dipped out man I ran up the street and took back alleys home....

My friend called me two days later and said he didn't remember anything except blazing the joint and then waking up in the hospital, doctors said he had a major seizure and almost died (turns out he was epileptic too, but he didn't tell me).

yea i had them be4 but never seen one till i got locked up it wuz tripped out i just froze cuz it looked like he wuz gonna die. but after a few seconds i snapped out of it and did wut i kno to do during that situation

Man that's crazy.... Glad ur loved ones are okay..... I know for the past year I've been stressed and have Lil depression thinking of to much shit and I remember few nights I wud try Fallin asleep and my arm move n kinda shake... Arms legs wud jerk... And I feel kinda out of it... I guess I cud see where it cud lead to.... but Can seizures jus go away n u not have one again or basically it's something u will have for awhile

Word man i felt the same way, i dont want to deal with cops unless i absolutely have to but i sure as hell wouldnt watch someone die. But luckily i just got a hold of his mom and she blazes so it wasnt to big a deal, and by the time the perramedics got there everything was hidden and i was gone.
