Got 4/4 males from the BBHP I had going. Was sure the last one would be a female but nope. Oh well, time to start over :wall:

Starting to believe the theory that cooler temps in veg produce more males. Not the first time I’ve had this happen in winter. Could be coincidence. Who knows
Sorry for your luck mate. Popped 9, ended up with a male from each batch and 6 female. Temps were around 82. Sometimes hit to 85. I guess I could always save pollen from each and f2 em ‍♂

It’s all good. I’ve thought about that too but I’ve got enough seeds lol. Still have a half pack left of BBHP. Decided to run a few fems after I put an end to the sausage party. Gonna save the regs for warmer temps. Post some pics!

Kindly, this will happen on valentines day at any random time? Asking for a friend as I'm popping love triangle from 2015 currently, asking for a friend
When we made the post, the promo went live.
We posted here 4 hours ahead of anywhere else to see how many people would respond. Trying to figure out our advertising bill. Thanks for checking. BD

Sex is already set at the moment of fertilization. Half of the pollen grains produce males and the other half produce females. Is low temp causing some females to produce male or male looking preflowers and you're tossing them before finding out they are actually female, maybe. I would bet that if you carefully logged all of your germinations and the resulting sex that it would approach 50-50.

I'll offer this friendly amendment, the natural distribution of female to male seeds is more 65/35. Nature tends to place a premium on females, and that's not just in cannabis.

Edit to add: I'm talking specifically about dioecious plants above.

Plant 1000 seeds and see what kind of ratios you get.
The smaller the sample size, the more random the result is, and the less accurate your ratio is to meaning anything.
That's what I've been doing. It turns out that some of the plants are males, and some are females. I plant more seeds, and the same thing happens. Idk that it matters what the ratio is. In your farming practices, over plant the amount of seeds for the number of plants you want, cull the weak ones, and breed the ones you like.

I look at it like this, there are female plants, male plants, and mostly female and mostly male. If one of those "mostly" male or females is in the equation then the ratio will be skewed one way or the other.
