bong water/mineral water?

hey this question may have been asked and answered before but my friend claims that if u use mineral water or a specific brand of mineral water instead of tap water it filters the smoke more efficiently than tap.idk if this is true or if he jus doesnt know wat hes talking about haha.thanks.answers are much appreciated.

if you want a smoother hit then i think the best and cheapest way is to drop some ice in the water.
then again mineral water is cheap. so try it i guess *shrug*
