I haven't read through the whole proposal yet, but I would be very surprised if the LP's were involved in the micro system at all. I suspect micro growers will sell to the government distribution agency, the same way craft brewers do.
The LP's aren't going to handle micro weed for free. Adding the LP's into the mix is an added cost to the grower making him/her less competitive and giving the LP's an unfair advantage.

That's a guarantee. Some will make big money flipping startups to LP's, but that just opens up a spot for someone else. It won't help the LP whatsoever. A good advertising campaign explaining the difference between warehouse weed and bud grown with care on a small scale could convince people to seek out the micro growers product.
In the end, it's gonna be about price, so the black market will prevail.

It will help the big over valuated LPs who have the ability to keep buying up the smaller guy. Thanks to their false valuation they can afford to, and have been doing so. Also they can lobby to change the marketing practices to disallow that under thr guise of unfair advertising

Don't forget these companies have reached such an overvaluation that is so ridiculous in comparison to reality that it isn't about people taking large amounts of money away from them. Small people taking nickels and dimes away from them. They don't want any competition. In any form weather micro or another large competitor. Business at this level has no friends and these are the type of scenarios where Cut Throat business men shine. Sadly it's now in an industry that has never wanted or needed any of this to survive.

You have a nice big prosperous Garden(business), do you pick all the little weeds out(competition) that are competing for that space and nutrients(customers and income)? Or take them out before they get too big to leech more resources from you while it's still easy?

And the micro-producers will sue for loss of revenue and opportunity due to unfair business practices. Unless the LP's are doing it out of the goodness of their hearts, it ain't gonna fly. It don't matter what's written in the proposal if it isn't lawful.

Except itll get challenged and most likely ammended. Also, someone having a different opinion doesn't equate to arguing. Its simply offering an opinion. You can choose to take it or not. Or you can try and tell people what to do. One is a rational approach...........

Section 2.2.6:

“As with a licence for standard processing, a licence for micro-processing would authorize related activities, including possession, transportation, research and development, storage, destruction, and the intra-industry sale of products to other federal licence holders or to provincially- or territorially-authorized sellers. A separate authorization would be required for sales directly to the public (see sections 2.2.7 and 2.2.8 of this consultation paper).”

The question is who will apply and get approved for these microprocessing licenses? Will it be cost prohibitive to get both micro cultivation and micro process licenses?

This is what I thought. Micro-growers can sell to LP's IF they want or sell their product through government distribution agencies.

Kinda.... microcultivators need to transfer to microprocessors for packaging and testing THEN to provincial sellers

But can't they be both cultivator AND processor? LP's are. Either way, the LP is left out of the equation, which was my point. It's only fair the micro guys either perform or pay for processing and testing the same as LP do. Hell the black market guys pay people for it now. The cost of doing business, no different than the light bill.

I’m guessing yes but I don’t recall reading anything confirming this.

Following tousaws meeting he said there looking to offer cultivators to process the entire harvest, hopefully they do this.

Why can't micro growers sell on their own website? Why does there need to be a middle entity between Grower and consumer other than quality testing, which the grower can send samples themselves.

one thing for sure you can count on the government to screw up anything they touch

But there already are illegal MOM sites like herbal dispatch that charge GST and email a receipt with every order.
