Botanicare testing products on animals

I hve been reading through some of the documentation for Botanicare products, and have noticed in some of their testing documentation that their products are tested by spraying the product into the eyes of rats and rabbits. Is this a common thing?

I am very surprised, in this day and age, that people still test products on animals.

The animals obtained by those people were lucky! You should have seen what I did to the chicken I had for dinner. Yesterday we had hamburgers, that poor bastard got ground up before I even bought it.
