botanicare turbogarden ebb & flo

hi. i just want to show off my grow-op and get some feedback. i am about a month into it and all my plants have shown sex. 10 females.

i have an indoor hydro set-up utilizing the sea of green technique(possibly scrog if plants become too vertical). my operation consists of a 2x4x5 commercial grow tent, 400w hps, botanicare turbogarden ebb & flo, 4" inline fan with a carbon filter containing 4pounds of carbon, and a CO2 boost system.

i am using botanicare nutes. due to a mistake on my part during ordering supplies i am combining grow (3-2-4) and ripe (1-5-4)under dilution and a 4:1 ratio for my bloom nutes. i hope this is not a mistake. i believe it will even out to be pretty similar to bloom. who knows, i may get spectacular results.

anyways, this is like my fourth grow but my first serious one. all the others were a precorse to this. all the others used floros, soil, and mir gro nutes. needless to say the yields were puny.

i always grow with seeds bought through an online vendor. i have ak-48 and bubblicious through nirvana but held out on planting a mother and going that route until i had my set-up fine tuned. so for now it is a dank bagseed grow.

so far, from what i can tell from the plants are: they are an obvious indica dom strain, very branchy, and skunky/cat pisslike.

if you've read this far, thanks, i will take some pics and update very soon. cant wait for suggestions, questions and feedback.

ok. my first problem has arose. i know the diagnosis.. nutrient toxicity. i dont have any clear-ex, but i have read that by leaching with a very very mild solution will work to flush salts out. how often can i expect to flush when using an average ec of 2.0. i change the water weekly and ph stays pretty close to 6. thanks

coool. I am using the turbogarden as well. I have always wanted one and even tho I have a three by three by botanicare and a collection of other hydro gear I bought one as a christmas present. So convenient and cool. Lol. I am opting for the old stand stuff, GH three part with the hardwater micro and straight tapwater. I am loving it. I suggest them to all. I am using botanicare in dwc for a super lemon haze clone and I am noticng that the growth with botanicare cannot beat the GH. At least that is what it looks like when I consider everything.

It sure is convenient system. I cant tell what your media is. I am guessing hydroton?

thye look slightly light green in the center. Is yur ph ok? If it is rockwool do not flush. What kind of water are yu using? Cal mag or tapwater? Light is how close?

extremely convenient. i love my system. it looks very clean and works efficiently. i recomend one to anybody looking at doing a stealth/micro grow. the system actually came with a coco-perlite mix that was to be topped off with a light weight gravel.. 2" rockwool for rooting. so no recomendations for flushing. i am using 5" pots for my 12/12 from seed. seems like salt will build up.

tonite i super-cropped the very top growth tip of all my plants which i am down to 8 of. they really took off but are doing so beautifully. i cropped to incourage lateral growth. as you can see in the pics i will post i added a screen about 8" around the fixture to limit growth. no real replies yet. i hope you keep an eye on my grow.

p.s. i just wanna say to all the haters: shutup! i think lady gaga is one of the hottest things since hash oil. i dont know if you, whom may be reading this knows that there are nay-sayers who claim she is a HE.. possibly a hermie. this is insane to me. have you seen any bulge, i mean honestly how revealing she is. and picture of a bulge is photoshopped. thank you ansd goodnight.

my grow has turned into a scrog.. a pretty nice one at that. i took pictures after tying my "net". there will be a nice canopy of buds. my 2 plants that are older than the others are looking great. cant wait to see them fatten up. nice xmas tree shape. just one question.. when do u determine sex, in reference to beggining the flower cycle. do you begin timing it the second she shows sex, or wait until she throws out a few more pistils? as always.. comments are welcome. hqvent got much feedback from the community.

nice grow. i think you should of been able to sex them by the time they grew their 4th set of nodes. i'll follow this as im looking at the microgarden and turbogardens

thanks for responding. i havent updated in a while. i will today. i think you misunderstood my question. what i meant was.... example: on my pack of seeds it gives me an 8 week flowering time. when does that 8 weeks begin... especially for a 12/12 from seed grow. we all know thats plant veg for a few weeks then show pre-flowers then begin packing on pistils. do i begin the 8 weeks when i see pre-flowers or when clumps of pistils form about a week later

well. i am into week 4-5 of flower in my grow although this post will include all older pics and my most recent pictures will come on the next post. in the pics on this post i am still trying to get my scrog to grow correctly but i later decided to just concentrate on my older 2 plants while beginning 3 clones from a hash plant haze. in other words growing more plants isn't better. after my harvest i will have 3 topped plants with a trellis netting to utilize the screen of green technique.

I figured it would be a bit cramped in there. maybe you could do a sea of green 12/12 from clones or with like 1 week veg?

ok. i am making a few updates.

today i bought some perlite, coco-coir brick, and granite chunks from lows to make my own readyGro mix. i think it turned out right on.. no need to pay for shipping on these items!! lol. also i got my botanicare cns17 bloom ferts in and have applied at a rate of 20ml/gal. that gives me an ec just at 2.5. i have maintained water changes at a week-week and a half schedule. i am using tap water that i allow the chlorine to evaporate from and keep at a constant ph of 5.8-6.

since there are only 2 growing plants i will top off a few times before i prepare to ripe, flush, and harvest. i had a hash plant haze plant under a floro vegging and took off three clones. 2 survived and rooted, i potted them in my mix. i expect one to turn out healthy so i also popped one Nirvana AK-48 and one Nirv Bubblelicious. after harvesting my current production plants i will have 3 topped plants i can support with a trellis net and get great results. when taxes come i want to get a co2 injection system and nute suppliments/enhancers. any suggestions what to get? other necessary items i dont have? i'll lay of the speech. check out some pics.

i dont know if i had mentioned that i used botanicare's organic grow formula in a low dilution to use as foliar spray. but i have used it throughout the grow and if the water gets low, i pour the mix right in my res. the concentrations of fertilizers are very low. i just want to mention i turn my plants on a regular basis although they prefer to grow a certain way and seem to grow more to one side. i am excited to harvest and start a new grow. i like my results but will get a much better result with co2 inj and a lower canopy. super-crop?

as you can tell there is slight light burn to some fan leaves but the buds look very nice and i am still going to flower for another month at least... now for some bad news... i did a little pre-harvest test to satisfy and cut 2 mid nodes from one of my plants.. this has slowed growth. but the buds will fatten 15-20% from now. so i am not going to harvest until the calender says. they look very good. very resinous. i love how the trichs stand up. any suggestions on how to keep my canopy shorter for the next time around? i plan to top 3 plants after they have grown past the 5th or 6th node. keep them equally separated and have a trellis for LST and support... temp, humidity, co2.. any of these affect node length? and which are ideal? i am looking for specifics.

count your 8 weeks from the day you look at at them and say: DAAANG THEY"RE FLOWERING NOW!!!!!

Before that, what you see are pre flowers...

But in any case you should wait for maturity...

You wouldn't pick a green banana cause the oackage said 90 days would you? nah.. you would wait for it to ripen... nice an sweet...

Well.. it's much the same with cannabis... and when it's done.. it's very obvious to the naked eye...

thanks tohkin. i know its only my 1st grow that im actually commited to but im very proud. dont get me wrong, i was commited to the others but they were more like trials to get a technique. i don't know if you can see in the previous set of pictures i had to purchase some dowell rods to tie the cola up. it was starting to sag. anyone wanna take a shot at guessing yield? in an earlier post i asked about flowering time. i started flowering when i said.... damn. lol

just a wild guess. i'd say around 1.5oz
