Bow and arrow..

This would be the perfect weapon for a modern day man to get away with murder. If somebody became surgical with a bow, it would be very hard to stop them. I'm just wondering why nobody has gone through with this. Virtually no noise. I was on MARSOC for 8 years, and one thing that I have come to understand (I'm sure alot of people already know) is that a suppressor, compared to "the movies" is a bad joke. A suppressors real use on the field is to confuse the opposing threat as to where the shots are coming from. But a bow, no noise at all? To imagine seeing a comrade fall to the ground dead, and not hearing even the faintest noise, that's terrifying. I've used a bow before (not in combat of course) I am horrible. Anybody good with a bow?

I used to be, but then we all agreed it was better for me to not own a projectile weapon. If I have to chase you, you'll most likely get away, because I just don't think it's worth it.

So I doubt I'm any good any more.

I'm in Philadelphia, so I've got no place to go to get practice that isn't roughly an hour away. Fuck it, guess I'll stick with my AR :)

I'm more interested in the old fashioned bow, that's what I've used before. It was not pretty, and I didn't use the glove I was supposed to and it fuccccked my forearm up. I got chewed out like you would not believe.

I learned on a old Bear recurve bow and have stuck with them since, I have a pse compound but it is outdated compared to todays standard.

we did archery for a couple weeks in gym class one year in high school. i sucked at it. looking back i can't believe they still had that in school in the 90s in massachusetts of all places. we weren't even allowed to have tiny neon squirt guns because they "promoted violence" but shooting arrows was a-ok. the tips were dull but they flew pretty fast and pierced dense foam from 20 something feet. fancy equipment could do some serious damage. it's a hell of a skill to have if you're looking to do some stealthy killin', though. it's probably best not to advertise having one if you're trying to murder anonymously. it would make a badass gta weapon. no auto-aim, though. that would be cheating.

Yeah that's my story. Learned at the YMCA and taught archery for a while. A standard recurve bow, a Wing, was what I used. Not shot in decades. Got the string bite marks on my arm still.

I've killed a pile of deer with a PSE compound and believe me, I'd much rather be shot with a gun than hit with a broad-head.
Those wounds are ugly if you've never seen it before.

Also, 40 yards is a very long shot - you'd have to be very good & your target would have to stay still for quite some time in order for you to hit anything accurately.
