No question they are useful to real breeders. A real breeder would self their males too to see what kind of product is produced. But you can use the fem (on females, I'm pretty sure if you use dutchmaster reverse on males you get htem to grow female flowers) process to lockdown certain recessive traits that are extremely rare, especially if you're breeding with smaller numbers and can't grow thousands of plants. Take a desired offspring from that S1 and cross it back to your original male and you have locked down the trait you were looking for in a reasonably consistent fashion.Taking "what God gives you" is not a way to choose seeds. Even if I were religious, I would assume that since God made the regular seeds... then surely he would have also been responsible for the feminized seeds as well. Some people love their regular seeds, some love their fem seeds. I love whatever seeds can grow me fat, consistent, dank buds. I just wonder- is there no place for feminized seeds in breeding? I mean-I know they breed 'em and package 'em up, but are they completely useless to a 'real' breeder (a breeder concerned with genetics/quality rather than capitalism/sales)?
There's room for IBL's and for F1's and S1's in the game, it's just a matter of responsible use. I don't see GHS or Barney's being very responsible. At least Strain Hunters is an interesting series I guess.
