Branch savable?

Howdy folks. Been creeping the forums for a few weeks now, taking it all in. Haven't had to post a question yet, because with a bit of research I can usually find any answer I need on here b/c you guys rock! :bigjoint:

Any how, my question is this.. A friend of mine had to move, and couldn't look after his girls. He had them planted in his back yard, and we had to dig them up to relocate. This went pretty well, the holes he dug sucked, and I was able to get the whole root system out easily, with minimal damage. BUT.. during transport, one of the limbs took some damage, and split a bit at the main stalk... but split underneath the node. I thought it would be ok, with the weight of the branch pushing it backdown together, but its been 3 days now, and it looks to be getting worse. I tied the branch up because it bacame very limp, and the top buds were folding over..

You guys think this limb is gonna make it? I Know MJ is very resiliant, but it seems to be getting worse, and I am sure the shock of transplanting isnt helping things either. :wall: Any opinions, tips or tricks you mave have would be super.:!: My buddy says I should chop it off, but I would hate to do that if it can be saved.. Looks like it might produdce a few nice buds. :leaf::leaf:

The branch looks a little too far gone. I would chop it and harvest what you can and/or use for hash.

u should of tied it up rite away, for future reference, ive had so many braches break this year that all healed up its not even funny

All it takes is some duct tape. I break my branches all the time, as long as you seal up the wound and keep oxygen from getting into it, it seems to heal itself relatively quickly.

Shurly you arnt breaking your own branches!! but you shouldnt have to many broken braches if you give them a little branch support with sum twine or small rope, just takes a little time. What about the actuall sticky part of the tape its gotta be made up of some ingredients that I dont want in my plants. Id rather try to tie up a broken branch or take the loss than tape it and risk some nasty chemical that will kill her or make the smoke harsh.

Do what you gotta do man. I'm just telling you what works for me. If you really think the sticky side of the duct tape is going to get into the plant and ruin it than good luck tying up your branches and watching them wilt.

ur taping the break on the STEM for a period of a week or 2, so this small amount of adhesive is gonna seep through the stem and poison ur plants, thats a pretty dumb statement, oh but u dnt mind the nutes u smoke up after harvest,

i prefer electric tape, i think its alot easier to work with, ive had about a dozen branches break due to rodents and bad weather, only one didnt recupporate, most of the branches broke on one plant, and suprisingly enough this is the plant with the biggest buds

Hey man dont take it personal I was just wanting to see how you tied yours up cuz i couldnt get mine tied up when I had a couple break in a hail storm this year, I wasnt even talking to you about the tape i was talking to beantown, i just dont want tape on my plants.. to each his own

I use netting to keep wind from breaking branches. Works pretty well; makes it easy to train the plant too. Anyone else use it in/outdoors?

haha believe it or not duct tape is all your need mate, hold the break together and tape that shit up itll heal , got no tape ? get a straw cut it down the middle and use it as a splint for the branches , happy growing.
