I'm surprised we don't have a special thread area for breeding. I feel like it's a very important part of our jobs as cultivators to know where our stuff comes from. Anyone create their own strain? If so, Please share! Also, can someone please explain the f1 and f2 system? Is that referring to generations of fem seeds? And is creating fem seeds considered "backtracking" genetics? I'd eventually like to breed myself.
 
for the most part we hunt for phenos similar in traits other people like, then they get names , those names get crossed, jumbled mixed up and rematched and crossed again and again Nd again. then you end with all these new poly hybrid crazy strains
 
Unless a plant genome comes from a particular area and has only been crossed with others from that area things get dicey if they are many generations removed.
 
This is why I hear so much about pheno hunting. How can you know if it's what you want without flowering? I assume it's why people reveg?
