These girls are straight bushes now. I have flowers literally exploding now, and the weather is my best friend at this point. Full sun for close to 8 hours still has the ladies working like machines to push flowers out. Next 7 days of weather will be highs near 80 with lows in low 60s. Full sun each day pretty much. In other words, BUDS!!!

Yesterday was the first all day soaking in SE Wisconsin since late June. Perfect timing for an outdoor shower for the ladies!

Back to sun today. The girls are responding beautifully. Stretch is done, and flower stacking has started. Between two plants last year I had three colas. Now that I am more comfortable with my plants, I did multiple tops and have 12 colas between 3 plants!!!

Here they are today.

I forget which thread it was that the subject of aphid control came up. Well, right on schedule, I saw my first ladybug on guard duty. @ganga gurl420 protected my babies last season during my first grow, reminding me that ladybugs do the same work chemicals do for aphid control, without, chemicals!! They literally comb each leaf. Crazy efficiency!

I was out in the garden today and I realized that even with the topping I did, two of my girls are already getting close to 6ft. The third is getting real close to that.

Next season I have three things on my grow list.
1) a mini green house with raised beds to start my seeds as early as possible.
2) go 100% organic.
3) work on my plant manipulation game to try to keep them at 5ft.

But I still love growing monster plants outdoors! Might let one go crazy next season...

Here they are today:

Yeah I wont even put then out any sooner then the 3rd week of may. Not because of weather but because the days are too short when they are that mature. You can stick them out earlier if it's a seedling because it's not sexually mature yet...or you can have supplemental lighting on them for just a few hours a day to keep them from flowering

Love to see this kind of frost on Sept. 3
The ladies are really transforming into 100% focus on flowers, and everyday they are getting more filled in. Sun and controlled feeding are really working in my favor. Even got a little rain move through this morning to wash them off.

Love to see this..

I am obsessive about checking every inch of my plants during flower. Found this on one of the inner bud sites. It is the only one like it. Any ideas on what is going on?

It's more purple than brown, and this is it. It's nowhere else.
There was a post about this recently, I believe it has something to do with aphids and a bacteria or fungus or something, dont quote me, I'm just saying I saw and read an article someone posted about it I'll see if I can find it to reference you.
