Hey Puff! Thanks for chiming in. Your input is always appreciated. So what is the dosage ratio of typical dries shrooms to dries aborts?Hey that is just the perfect amount for a nice trip.
Congrats West ... aborts are the most potent.
Make a tea !
So it looks like the general consensus is about 50/50.Well, let me tell you ....Abort is the proverbial Cherry on TOP .... as per my experiments !
Have a glance ...
and allow your brain deduce !
Watch the first four videos... They cover the basicswhen i read the title to the thread i thought it might be a recipe for a spaced out birthday cake lol. but im glad to have stumbled across it, i have been wanting to grow some shrooms for a while now but have not got a clue where to start. i mean i know i can order the spore kits but in terms of growing them not a clue. are there any threads on riu teaching you ?? giving me any info would be great thanks guys and sorry about intruding on your thread but you seem like the people i need to chat to. hope you get some answers on whats happened wish i could help.
Well, I would say canndo prob is right, I am no myco wizard, but canndo raises points. I just don't see high rh doing this, but I defer totally. Chuck em and move on.The brownish aborts look like bacterial infection to me - not enough air movement, and or, they got really wet. You want high RH but you don't want the things to remain wet very long. Maybe Pseudomonacae. Frankly, you are on the verge of growing plenty of mushrooms, good mushrooms, Personally, I wouldn't eat anything that had the chance of making me sick AND high at the same time. We play with all sorts of nasties at the microscopic level when we grow mushrooms. We can inadvertently bring a slight concentration of a few harmless little bodies into the realm of toxicity and danger. For instance, Aspergillus Niger or Aspergillus Flavus scare the PISS out of me. If I even imagine I have a case growing I will toss it all in the cooker, steam it for an hour or so and still use a mask when I get the stuff out of there. I recently read a recounting of a guy who just went outside and cleaned his jars of who knows what, no precautions no nothing. He is quite certain that he can attribute a host of lung disorders to his having done so. Whenever I am unsure, it goes in a sealed bag, it gets steamed and then goes into the trash.
gotcha nowChoempi - I have found that high RH alone will not do this. 100 percent RH will have mycelial hairs growing all over the stem and up - the tufts that grow on the cap will get large and hairy but 100 percent humidity with no air flow will mean that any condensation or any sprayed water will sit on the stem and soak in, asking for bacterial infection, Trich on the substrate and fungal infection on the fruit.
Best of luck to you shadowdarker. Feel free to hijack the thread as my question has pretty much been answered.thanks for the pointers guys after much reading yesterday and watching the vids i have ordered some cambodian spores and will be grabbing the other stuff i dont already have to get me started so some noob questions will no doubt fall upon your paths soon.
