Don't know what the rating is, but check post 321. I basically run 6 4-footers in series on a 320 watt supply. Just under 300volts from supply. Been working well at 295 watts for several weeks.Anyone know the voltage rating of the push in connectors on the EBs? I bought 6 4ft strips on a whim but I'm wondering if driving them all in series is too much. Would I be better off going parallel? Planning a veg light for 2x4 space.

It will get warm, if i were you id cut a few holes in the hoods and exhaust your tent through the lights.So Ive got these 2'x2' floro fixtures I'm going to repurpose into EB series 560mm housings.... right now I have 2 of the ELG240700 Meanwells, which are 180w using a 120v input, having a forward V of 257 each. I can run 11- 560mm EBs on each producing 341w at 156L/w. So Ill get 53000 L from the 2x4 area, of the two combined enclosures....
Running at 700ma, the question remains will it get hot.....2 feet is over 600mm, since the 560mm strips are 24mm wide, 11 will comfortably fit inside that salvaged "hood reflector", but will it stay cool without any active cooling source????
I think if you run them at .7a you not need more than 8-10Fortunately, I'm inside an open air room that stays already very cool, plenty of vertical space as well. I'm just wanting to squeeze as many strips as possible onto those "hoods" without them cooking each other, and its just unknown right now.... As most of us here are, this is all uncharted territory. The next level driver option available can run 16 of the 560mm strips, but I'm not sure that extra amount of light is necessary over a 2x4 area....

Very cool - how do the lenses attach to the strips?Okay Pickles, I've finally gotten around to it and I'm sorry it took me this long. Here are the pictures. The Ledil Florence optics will work with the EB strips but not the Samsungs. Also, how the strips are secured will also be the determining factor in using them as you can see the screws get in the way. Securing the optics with clips means you wouldn't be able to run the strips side by side, there would have to be a minimum of 13mm separation. Hope this helps.
are you saying you are going to run 24 strips in a 4x4?OK boys so I'm still on my quest for building a 4x4 fixture with these Samsung strips. So far I've got 24 strips (12) 3000k (6) 3500k (6) 4000k, the 4k will be used during veg, then full blast to finish. The strips are 18mm wide + 32mm spacing between each Samsung.
So that's my main light done, now for supplementals.
I've got someone to quote me on making 560mm ALU PCB strips using 100x Lumiled Luxeon SunPlus 35 Purple 12.5% blue diodes and they're around $90 ea ($0.68 each diode!!!!) If we could sort out some type of site-wide group buy we can get 5000 diodes for much cheaper (around $0.35) bringing the cost per PCB strip to manufacture about $45 or less?
IMO as an idiot is that 3k, 3.5k & 4k WITH 6 strips (600 purple diodes) of purple would cover the spectrum perfectly? Also supplementing far reds on star PCBs or strips + 2 UVB bulbs.
What I would end up with is a light capable of covering a 4x4 extremely efficiently but also if ran harder you could even run a 4x8?
Thoughts anyone? I'm really keen on these purple strips haha..

what drivers are you using? 24 seems over kill for a 4x4, 12 per 4x4 at 1050ma will probably be fine. then you could get 2 fixtures built.

My strip fixture gets me 20k lum at 24 inches running 470 watts. (for a 3x4 space, i actually turned the drivers down it was at 530). I think that you could run 10 strips pretty hard and use L strips as heat sinks and do 10 over a 4x4 with no issue at all. I think the light will be so even over the entire space, that you could do with less light. If you run a 1000 w there is a crap ton of light in the middle and it drops off on the edges a lot. Here, its 20k at 2 feet everywhere. It crazy. It hasn't been in a tent yet, but id bet if it was, you could even less light. I am really liking this style of light.
