Broken HPS

Little bit of confusion. You can get both mh to hps conversion bulbs and hps to mh conversion bulbs. The thing is you loose a ton of lumnes with a conversion bulbd.Conversions go to regular non switchable magnetic ballast. Most people make sure to buy digital nowadays and digitals are auto switchable just pop in the correct watt hps or mh bulb and it will detect which bulb is in and then use or not use the hps igniter depedning on the bulb. You dont loose the lumnes and the digital ballasts use less electric usually are overclocked so like a 400 watt bulb puts out as much as a 430 bulb. The digitals weight about 5 lbs verses 20 lbs for the old magnetic ballast. HTG has been known to have alot of bad bulbs and ballast the last year and shipping has been slow and lotta damage it seems. I personally dont reccomend or use them.

Great....... this morning when I woke i went down to my grow room and it was doing it again (trting to fire). I am gonna call HTG today. Luckily I hastily set up the MH in it's place for now so it ran about 13 hours of dark. Not bad, But I am not pleased with this whole crappy deal. UGH

I called them yesterday and they offered to replace the bulb free of charge. I upgraded to the AgroMax bulb for the price difference (20.00). I Still have to flower under MH for a week when I only planned to add the MH for the last 2 weeks of my grow. O well.

Update: I got the bulb like a week ago. It's working wonders! check out my grow!!!

let me say they will last the year...... the output is over stated !

buy a better bulb... no plain jane, no grow bright.... NO HTG china BS

any suggestions?
