broken root tips help

I germed my seeds for 2 days the outer shell cracked and the tiniest root tip came out..putting it in new paper towells because the old ones dried, i broke like less than 1/4 a cm off the root tip and figured it would be fine so i continued to germ it and 24 hours later still nothing....did it die?? or can it still germ over time??

i was considering planting it but it wasnt done germing when i broke the tip so i kept it germing....i guess it cant hurt to keep it germing...or can it?? anyway its one of many seeds so its all good but thanks for the advice im gonna go ahead and plant it although there isnt much of a root sticking out

the paper towel method is not worth the risk and effort. put them in a cup of water in a warm dark place w/1 drop of hydrogen peroxide, they should all crack within 24 hours. you could also just start in the pot you intend to grow it in. or you could use jiffy cubes or something like that......

true true just out of curiosity though, after the little tip broke off there is little to no protruding rootip its just a big white hunk in there can it still grow??

true im sure itll be fine its just 1 seed out of 5 i was just wondering if its possible to grow still. Thanks though.

bro dont worry about it i did the same thing and the plant is coming out sexy no problems what so ever

quick question i have 12 that not yet cracked their in paper towels for 1 week now. can i transfer them into a cup and put peroxide in it. whats the percentage that they'll germinate your way

I don't doubt that many people have damaged their root tip and still had success. However, it is usually said that if you damage the tap root in any way, even by touching it, you could kill your seed/plant. So if you broke it, my guess is that its dead. Start with a new seed.

this is a pic of the seedling i was telling you about, the one that i broke the root tip cuz i thought it was flexible"dumb of me" bad mistake but you live and you learn it's dutch poison but they say in the long run it'll affect it just like a childhood drama
