Broken stalk, goofed and used rooting hormone!

So I goofed and in a panic had the idea that before I tape it up and wrap it with wire that I could add some of my cloning gel to the damaged cut and that it would help stimulate it.....everything I've read (Wich is not much) touches on this subject.

Anyone else ever have this experience or know of a time anyone done the same, what was the results of any?

I'm only concerned that I did more hurt than help....it's only been 24hrs and leaves are not dropping or anything....

I am 2 weeks are so into flower. The plant is over 2 years old. The branch in question is half the plant! I am in soil....I keep nutes low but am using TIGER BLOOM... I also regularly use benefitial bacteria.

Wife was in garage and knocked a light over I had leaning up....snapped the branches completely off aside from some skin still attached....

I have so much time and effort and training into this plant over past 2+ years, she is my mother, I've already cloned her....she just had got so big wanted to flower her.

I have taped and wired it already...both breaks are at intersections so the "V" is open on one end....this is the open end I decided to put a little glob of rooting gel thinking that it is "synthetic auxin" and auxin helps cell development....same reason shade side of stems elongate and plants appear to "bend toward light".... I have ran some rope supporting weight of the branches....I've also propped something under the branch (a tiny bit taller than lowest point) to help support it from bottom as well; lifting the weight....there should be no weight at break point....

Anyway fellas, idk if I should try cleaning the gel off? Use just water and wash it away? Let it be and leave alone? I did tape it all up tight first...the gel was after thought for exposed end left open where tape stopped at crook....

Ok....thanks guys for the input, won't be making this "mistake" again and if turns out helped it I'll be sure to share.
