Just got done breaking the main stem of my 2 month old sativa! Thing exploded with growth and it was branching so I decided to supercrop by bending and FIMing to keep it short and stout. I did this on pure accident, it had a good bend to it, now its almost in two pieces.
Ive taken wet toilet paper and folded it legthwise and wetted it with water and sugar(maple sryup in this case) and splinted the wound with that. Zip ties to adhere the bandage to the wound and a chop stick crutch, my baby will have a bulging wound in a week but fully recovered and thriving in other branches and nodes. This has been my very best plant, got the seed from a fellow grow inthusiast who sepecialized in Trainwreck strains. I'm only trying to not over water the plant and leave it to nature to correct itself.
Remember, keeping sugars flowing thru the damaged branch is key. I wouldnt recomend duct tape or even electrical tape, its sticky and can reopen the break when removed. The second time you won't be so lucky. Use a moist piece of heavy duty paper cloths and wet them, in this form its damn near the same material the plant is already. It will mix with the wet parts of the plant and make a "patch" that is strong, it will also cause branching to compensate for the wound depending at which node space it occured in.
