Bronco Two 1988 Goin 2-5 mph I Pressed Breaks And Put Car In Park And Heard Crunch...

goin down a neighborhood i see my back tire hitch coming undone so i press breaks im pissed cuz it does it a lot, and i miscalculated my breaks and i put car in Park going 2-5 mph and i hear a CRUNCH i looked it up and it could be transmission or gear damage.. im fuckin pissed dude.. what do u guys think? i looked under my hood.. but i never tried to notice the transmission.. but the front.. has a bar that connects to the tires.. the bar is bent TOWARDS me if i were to stand in front of the car.. but it looks like the bent coulda been there.. but not sure.. what do you guys think? im pissed cuz i work 3:45am-9am.. and like. that means the bus isnt a fuckin option for me..

yeah that is pretty low.. but shit i bought it off my friends dad for a dollar, his dad put in rebuilt tranny.. which i think i fucked up.. but other than that it just needed batter and thats it. he stopped driving it cuz he got a new car.. well.. new cars... they known me since i was a kid.. so fuck dude for a dollar youd do the same.

and yeah i have always intended on getting a new car.. well truck.. cuz this bronco can pack some fuckin KEGS!!! xD XD XD XD

Going 2-5 mph and slamming that thing in park would be a pretty good jolt. You didn't spill the bong water did you?

Sounds like you probably broke the "Parking" detent in the transmission.

Best scenario: The detent will remain lodged in its notch - you won't have park, but everything else should work as before.
Worst scenario: The detent will come loose & bind at the gear mesh point & destroy your transmission and nothing will work.

As for the bent bar, are you talking about the tie-rod? Many applications of these are factory bent at odd angles to offset geometry issues. Are your front tires "pigen toed or splayed" when looking at it straight on from the front?

I took it into my friends mechanic shop, he owns one and he checked it out for me its ALL good he drove my car and turns out my car runs perfectly normal!! haha i was just tweakin out and yeah the bar was supposed to be a bit bent to go with some metal frame on the bottom.

BUT they did noticed a lot of leaks of the watercoolant, tranny, and oil but it was all from old age. and the leaks were pretty minor.. and my timing belt for my A.C was a bit wore down.. oh and I need an oil adapter cuz i messed it up trying to smuggle tree inside it.. (joke)

ima get 20% off too since I know the owner, dont really hang out with him so its a pretty god dam cool thing he gave.

so im pretty fuckin happy. plus I met some cool new people today.


Thanx for the help guys!!! xD I just hope to get some more money in cuz everyone just LOOOVVVEEESSSS money :]
