Brown spotting on Leaves.

Hey Slinky! Aha I had just decided this thread might be about dead and took it to another subsection within a minute or two of your reply I hadn't seen.

As far as PPM, I don't have any gauge to measure and they are in soil. I've been doing 2.4ml/Gal but will up the dosage at next watering.
What I'm worried about is more leaves seem to be becoming affected, albeit not new growth, but about the third or second to top node some of the larger leaves I'm noticing spotting on I hadn't seen prior.

ahhhhh you're in soil!!! Not really my area but if you don't have a way to test your feed then you should get a meter! mix everything in a bucket of water, cal mag first and then your feed(if it requires feed) otherwise just every other-other watering with a little cal mag. :) The new growth will be your tell tale if you have the doses right !!!

2.4ml a Gallon is really not that much at all.
it's about 4.5 litres a gallon ...that's 0.53ml per litre you're adding. That's about 1/4 dose...I tried that and it made a little difference but didn't work. You can't really overdose on calmag as far as I'm aware as it reacts with certain PH ranges! Hence having the PH correct. In soil i think it's a little higher that hydro ( about 6.0), but someone who's good on soil can probably advise you better.

However I'm a bit of a noob as well so don't take me concrete! The new growth is looking good so keep an eye on it for now. If it starts looking rusty etc once the leaves are out a little then up your calMag!

i sugest you start fedding 1/2 dose nutes , and 1/4 calmag not the other way arround like your doing. your soil should have already alot of micronutrients in it . also your nutes have them also , that should be more than enought for your plant .
your in soil and a good soil by the way, as long as you are in the correct Ph window your nutes will have all the extra CaMg and other micro they need. there shouldn't be no need to add any more calmag.
do not over due the cal\mg if you deposit too much in your soill it can do more harm than good.

Is measuring the run off a sufficient way to measure soil PH window? My ph strips from the pet store only measure as low as 6.2 ph, and the color they show when I use them is just a bit lighter than the 6.2 color, leading me to believe i'm somewhere in the 5.8-6.0 ph area.

Will up cal mag if this happens, also going to examine nutrient lockout.

Thanks for the replies guys!

you ph in soil should never be bellow 6.0.. you should aim for 6.6 in Veg and 6.3 in flower , but this is optimal off course, as long as you keep in the 6 to 6.8 you should be fine , but 5.8 is a little acid, you aim for acidic's ph in hydro , but soil needs be a little higher
