Bruce Banner #3 From Seed

Welcome to my thread. This is my first grow thread and I hope you enjoy these plants as much as I do. The back story is that I planted 2 seeds in the same pot, with the intention that nothing was going to happen. I got these seeds from an ounce I bought at the store. Turns out, those seeds were ready to hulk out. There... I made the pun

I have a lot of photos to post, so bear with me. That grow looks pretty ghetto doesn’t it? Don’t worry, it gets better. I am getting you caught up on how this grow has gone for me. The low stress training (LST) has done wonders to canopy height and managing the lower stems. Also, I would go outdoors to indoors again. Also keeps your grow on a budget. Just tell your nosey neighbors it’s a Japanese maple.

Getting better, right? That is a 1500 watt LED grow light, and I’m seriously considering a second one. This plant is Sativa dominant, so it’s going to look a bit stretchy and spindly. The plants are in 5 gallon fabric pots and the grow medium is, yours truly, Black Gold All Purpose Soil. It’s my go to for all grows. Keep checking out this grow diary and tell me your ideas.

I know, I know, lots of vegetation and no buds. We’re getting there bro... and it’ll be hella cool. By the way, I only had some cheap grow lights to start this inside grow. I did repurpose the clip light. That thing is amazing for starters on a desk. Impulse Amazon buy, and it was worth it.

Yes! The start of flowering! You’ve guessed it, I flipped the lighting over to 12/12. Previously, the lights were running at 18/6. I fully believe that plants need sleep like humans do. I’ve also been using a 10/10/10 liquid fertilizer throughout the indoor grow. I use britta tap filter water due to it being a perfect 7 pH. The fertilizer knocks it down to about 6.7 pH.

Are you ready for more early flowering stage photos? I hope you’re as curious about the hulk size potential of these buds as I am. I’m lucky to even find seeds, and don’t forget the probability of them being female on top of that.

This post brings you up to date. The plant is starting week 2 of flowering, and this is where it’s going to get interesting. These ladies are thirsty and they are going to go through a stage of PMS if they don’t get the right nutrients. In this case, chocolate and ice cream aren’t the remedies. Let me know your thoughts about this grow.

That LED is maybe 120W max and its crap, if you want another one you must be crazy. Anyway you will see it on your yields if there will be some...

I’ve used the same light on previous grows and have had extremely good yields. Lemon Kush with a 20 oz yield.
I'm glad you are having fun with your grow and enjoying it. First let's correct a few things.

That is not a 1500w light. The plants looks "stretchy and spindly" because it's not enough light for that space, not because it's a Sativa plant.

Plants don't need to sleep.

This entire grow journal post is in the wrong section.

Finally you did not pull 20 oz with that light. Maybe if you did like 40 grows with it then might pull 20 oz. Besides you just said the light was an impulse buy. It's clearly a new light than you started with. How did you already have a harvest with it if you just bought it.

Good luck!

You apparently don’t read well. I said the clip light was an impulse buy on amazon. I bought the hanging grow light at the garden shop down the road.

Just gonna throw this out there. Not to be that guy but pictures taken under LED light make it hard to see any imperfections etc. from the plants. They look healthy but if you could take some pictures in a couple weeks under natural light that would be wonderful.

Keep up the good work. If your going to invest in a grow light I would stay away from the random Amazon lights. They work great for small seedlings and some vegging plants but when it comes to flower.. you need power. Their are alot of good options right now on the market that are budget friendly which is where i started.

Just the clip light was an amazon buy. Thank you for some positive reinforcement. I do respect that quite a bit. I’m slowly buying my grow equipment so I’ll definitely get what I deserve from this grow, and I understand that. The hanging light I bought at a store called The Green Light District. It’s rated at 1500w and has dual led lights running 10w each. I’ll get some pics in there without the LED light.

This is my grow a long time ago. Big buds and the plants grew to about 8 feet in height.

Real performance of every single LED is around 1W so in total you are around 300W draw out the wall.

Also, it’s not about the wattage, it’s about the PAR level. I get about 4x4 grow area with one of these, and I do in fact have a second one I’m borrowing from a friend. I’m covered 4x8 now.
