Bubbled tap water

If I bubble tap water will it get rid of the chlorine? If so how long would you bubble it for

you dont even need to bubble it. just let it sit out. it only takes about 20 minutes. however it is better to bubble because it oxygenates water which the plants roots just love.

i actually think thats why hydro is faster, much more oxygen to the roots. also the ph is much easier to stabilize.

also i've grown with water straight out of the tap without letting it sit out. it never seemed to harm anything but i still let it evaporate anyway.

I long long ago gave up letting water sit to allow chlorine to evaporate. No difference, If i can drink it, my plants don't seem to have any issue drinking it

only time i worry about chlorine is if im doing a mycho or bacteria addition. then at that point i have to worry about chlorine, chloramine, flouride.

Yeah, thats what I am worried about. Doing an organic super soil and I dont want to kill the bacteria and mychos. So a filter is the best bet?

fluoride and chloromine will be the hardest to get out of the water, neither will offgas/evaporate. chloramine if not allowed enough contact time with a high grade carbon filter will not get filtered out. fluoride requires an activated alumina filter, reverse osmosis, bc carbon, or distillation to be removed. most municiple water districts will add fluoride to the drinking water due to a state mandate. i have a question concerning tap water. i have well water that is filtered through a water softener. then we have a seperate filter from culligan that the softened water goes through, then its considered drinking water. i do not have a ppm meter. so i was wondering what you guys thought i should use? drinking water or softened water or straight well water? thankyou.

Ive herd of people using straight well water. Check the ph though. You can get a test kit for like 15 bucks at the hydro store

Yeah it depends how u grow I guess I know others that have said when they grow in soil their plants love well water, but if they do a hydro setup they need to use filtered water otherwise the minerals in the water can cause clogs, among other things.

i grow in soil. ive been using the drinking water, im gonna try straight well water since i do not like the results ive been getting.

i know of a few people that use strictly well water. the ppm and ph are nearly perfect so they dont mess with trying to filter or buffer the ph. they use it for the hydro and soil setups. you can get really cheap ph/ppm meters on ebay for just a few dollars.
