Bubblelicious outdoor grow journal!

I just found this sight as I never looked for one before but I am in the middle of an outdoor grow and I wanted to document it from here on out if that is cool. I had no reason to document it photographs until now so I will start here. I hope some of you will follow along to see the sweet nuggies in the end!
I ordered my Bubblelicious seeds from buydutchseeds.com on 4/5/2008 and they shipped on 4/7/2008 and I received them on 4/17/2008. I put four of them in paper towels on 4/19/2008 and they cracked on 4/21/2008. I placed them in a pie tray with only like an inch of dirt and they popped out of the dirt on the 4/23/2008. On 4/28/2008 they were were about 5" tall and the first set of leaves were beginning to grow away from the seed leaves so I put them in 6" pots burying them up to the seed leaves so that they get a good root system started. I kept them in a very sunny location until they were around 2 feet tall and then I chose the 2 best ones and relocated them to their final location where they get direct sun in the first 3-4 morning hours and then the last 3-4 hours being spared by the hottest sun of the day when it is filtered through some trees. I dug large holes and filled it with good soil. I like it pretty well and it helps save on watering.

They have just begun to flower on 8/19/2008 and I got some pictures of the early flowers. It looks like we got 1 male and 1 female so it looks like I get seeds! I am also going to regenerate the "Mother" for future cuttings for clones after harvest for a 12/12 SOG Bubblelicious grow if all goes well. So ya'll stay tuned and see what happens. Let me know what you guys think of it so far. Thanks!

BTW, I am moving the male inside to collect his pollen tomorrow! I will get some really good shots as things go. I guess since she started flowering on the 19th the this is day 3. Bubblelicious is supposed to be around 9 weeks or 63 days I think. We shall see. Later guys!

no its not THC, but it does contain a trace amount of canabinoids..... not nearly as much as a trichome, but thats why you dont usualy smoke it..... pollen is usualy refigned and then used for cooking or flavoring drinks......mostly... although i have seen people make health creams and stuff with it....

@doublebubble looking good man, other than they might need a little bit more wind....those stems are looking a bit thin. just make sure you support the buds if they get to big for the plant.

Hey guys! I got up this morning and got the male out of the ground, into a pot and inside so none of the ladies gets fertilized unintentionally. I want some seeds but only in a couple buds. One on the BB female and the other is on one of two other bushes that came from some high-mid I liked from earlier this spring. It may make a nice cross to play with because it never "hermied" and I topped EVERY branch between EVERY 2nd and third node the entire growing season EXCEPT the last two weeks before flowering began. They were started on the same day as the BB were as well. I'll take pictures of them later.

Once I got him inside I cut the two tops off and cleaned them up. I then put them in a cup of water and sat that in a pyrex dish to catch the pollen when it drops. Just in case I cut the plant back to about 4 feet and I am going to collect pollen from the lower branches as well. I figure I will use a paper sack and save it until the right time. Pictures included again. Let me know what you guys think.

Day 4 flowering

Good luck 101!

420- It's funny you say that because I have been shaking it every day since birth to help strengthening them. I appreciate the help though and will stake her if need be!

Cheesy-I am not really concerned with it rooting. I just want it to live until I collect the pollen then I will toss it. I am going to regenerate the female after harvest and try to get enough cuttings to start a Al B. Fuct style 12/12 SOG though. I still have more research to do on what method I am going to use. It may be a long while from now but I can just keep the strain going until I need it I hope! Thanks everyone! Later!

Okay guys this is an official apology:

I was slack (and slightly paranoid) and stopped updating you guys and for that I am sorry. Then once I started "testing" to see if it was ready I never stopped (even to take pics) until it was all gone. All I can say arewas it worked out really nice and I could only have been happier if it never ran out. I recommend the Bubbelicious from DP. I won't be growing anymore in my backyard and would never grow in my home but if I had a super secret location where I could I would have a SOG on 12/12 perpetually harvesting in the Al B. Fuct fashion running aircooled 1K HPS horti bulbs ONLY I WOULD USE a light mover to cover a 4'X8' area. I would be harvesting 12 colas 3 feet long and coke can thick every 2 weeks from my Bubblelicious, Blueberry Feminized, California Orange Bud, and a strain I am calling "Happy Daze" clones taken from mothers which are kept in their own 3'X4' room under 250 watts and a cloning box with its own 96 watt compact flouro. Of course this is all hypothetical and would be super secret and off my property. Once again I am sorry I got so slack/stoned. Maybe I will start a grow journal with some ficticious pics of my ficticious grow if anyone would be interested.

Hi DB,

Just wondering if you were successful in your pollen capture? I pulled 5 males from my first grow (I'm on my second now) and destroyed them. Never thought to harvest the pollen. Does pollen have a "shelf life"

It worked great! I am not sure about the shelf life because I would go in every day for a couple weeks and put a bag over each limb and shake the pollen into it then take it to the same limbs and put it over them and shake it. So I didn't try to save it. I read once that it can be stored either frozen or cold (can't remember) in open trays for short periods of time I think. Hope this helped some.

This grow went great and I am finishing my first SOG from the clones I took from the regenerated female! See my journal for details.:bigjoint:
