last weeks pic

todays pics

everything is going great. starting to see the beginings of flowers.
using general hydroponics feed schedule to a tee and i haven't seen anything at all to worry about.
seems like when i grew in soil i would of already had a hand full of differnt problems.

last night i trimmed a few branches off the bottom of the plants that weren't getting any light. i need to get a second closet built, these would have made some nice clones. i've been adding between 1 1/2 to 2 gallons of water everyday. after i add water the ph hangs around 5.9, after they do their drinking the ph is usually down around 5.2. the closet temps have been getting up into the high 90's with lights on but i can't see that the heat is effecting the plants at all. the resivoir temps are 68 degrees and the humidity has been between the high 30's on up to the 70's.

got the water changed out. talking about hot, the temp of the water coming out of the faucet was 92 degrees. i'm starting to hate these long, hot, misserable, nasty ass summers that texas dishes up. thank goodness i finially have a job inside with a/c.

note to self, don't use ph down for pools and spas. yesterday after changing the resivoir the ph was sitting at 7.5 so i measured up the right dose and brought it down to 6.0. about 4 hours later the ppm on the tds meter went from 1220 to over 1800. i completely drained and flushed the system and after refilling i didn't add any nutrients until this afternoon when i had some general hydroponics ph down. i'm sure i caught it quick enough, no damage at all.

Cool shit dude! I just purchased my light today going 1000W HPS found it online with the ballast, MH bulb, etc for 328.00. My closet is 5' x 6' 8' high. I live in the desert too so I will be using a ice chest to maintain 68 degree water.... Only thing left to buy now is my fans and charcoal filter .

Not going to use a water chiller I am going to follow BoomerBloomer57's design using ice chests. it's like 111 degrees today so i know I will have constantly be checking the water temps. I figure I will have to be dropping in frozen bottles every so often. I dont have the funds to pay 500 bills for a aquarium chiller. Also kevin are you using any CO2? I will also be using a AC duct line into my closet to keep my babies happy at 76 degrees and a 1000W air cooled HPS/MH

i tried the frozen water bottle and i would of been rotating ice bottles every 2 hours to keep the temps under control, and that was back when outdoor temps were in the 80's and 90's. i could imigine the fight with the temps over a hundred. try checking the aquairum shops for a used one. i use a co2 bottle with regulator on a timer.

Where did you get the CO2 regulator and timer from?

go big as you can afford. i gave 300 or 400, can't remember, for a 1/3 horse. if you could find a drinking fountain, i bet the chiller in it would work. i didn't think of this until after i bought the chiller.

there really hasn't been anything to update on. the girls are just now forming tiny buds. the root system must be massive and there is no way i can look because of the way i designed it. after changing the water and nutrients saturday the ppm was up over 1500 so i kept draining and adding straight water until it dropped down to 1200. i'm going to measure how much water it takes to fill the resivoir next week, i don't think it is taking as much water because of the root system. i noticed a few of the upper fan leaves were nutrient burnt but nothing serious. i only left it high on the ppm's for a few hours thinking that the 2 tanks hadn't mixed completely but it was long enough to do a little damage. it's hard to get a decent pic but i will get a few on tonight.

everything is running well, the closet is so full i can't get a decent pic to post. i've dropped the ppm's down in the 800's and all the leaves are a nice color of green and the flowers are starting to bud up real nice

i put a papaya seed and 2 ppp seeds in mg moisture control potting soil mix and they broke soil yesterday and once they need feeding i will be using the all purpose mg nutrients. one of my best harvest was done in mg.
