If you are going to go with soil (and that is a SMART move, BTW), I suggest that you start out keeping this as uncomplicated and easy as you can. Forget all of the "You have to have this spectrum" or "you have to use this Brand of nutrients" , (These are all just OPTIMIZING methods anyway) and concentrate on keep in them alive for the duration of the grow. Once you can do that, THEN start refining your technique!! If you start out with bagseed, use a general purpose like a 10-10-10 through the entire grow, and use CFLs (enough of them) or only a Metal Halide through both veg and flower, you will get some amazing bud, I can assure you. Once you get the basics of growing down, then you can start fine tuning the whole proper nutrients and light spectrum at the proper stage thing. Don't try all the shit that everyone is gonna throw at you to "improve your yields". Remember, a plant is a living thing, and is going to have some "hang nails" along the way, and not everything you THINK is a problem really is a problem. Just chill, and keep reading. If you keep it simple at first, you'll be successful and will have more motivation to get better.
