There are two reasons to bubble nutes. Either your nutes are water soluble (they have been mineralized and are immediately available for use by the plant) or they need to be mineralized. Guano is partially water soluble so when you make a tea you are really just extracting the water soluble nutrients from the physical matter. Bone meal is not water soluble - it needs to be broken down by bacteria and mineralized (put into an ionic form) before it can be utilized by the plant. By bubbling a bone meal tea for many days with the proper bacteria and heat you can make more of the bone meal immediately available for uptake.

Fox farm liquid nutrients for the most past are water soluble chemical nutrients - they are already available for immediate absorption and thus bubbling them really isn't going to help much other than keeping the nutrients evenly mixed with the water.

If you wanted to use their time released solid fertilizer and did not want it to time release but release all at the same time you could bubble it.

I make bat guano teas but ideally bat guano and all other organic fertilizers should be top dressed into the soil. Bat guano contains both immediate release (water soluble) as well as time released (insoluble) nutrients. Essentially all nutrients must be in an ionic form (water soluble) to be absorbed and utilized by a plant. If you make a simple tea you will be stripping the bat guano of the water soluble nutrients and leaving the rest of the time release nutrients at the bottom of the bucket.

If you make your tea by placing the guano directly into the water then you can simply shake thoroughly so that even the insoluble particles travel when the water is poured - this will get the time released nutes into the soil where they will break down and become available.

Or you can add the necessary bacteria to your tea, get to a nice healthy temp, and pump ALOT of air into it for several weeks. By doing this you mineralize all of he time release nutes at which point they are all water soluble and immediately available. This process can smell pretty bad and has the possibility of breeding some dangerous bacteria so I wouldn't recommend doing it indoors.

This is all very different than a time release chemical fertilizer such as miracle grow. These products are balls of compressed water soluble chemical nutrients where only the outer layer is able to disperse the nutrients.

Most fertilizers will state the % of soluble versus insoluble:

its been a few days. guano tea made them leaves perk up, nice....some how i dont think 1 tsp was enuff. 2 tblsp. seems better...but some times more is not better. I have ffof and all nutes. doin good so far, i have read that FF is not organic...100% i mean. Can i use guano teas in between FF feedings.or should i just use guano tea? questions questions. I have read for months on RIU. Finally joinedand am exploring the site . not much with computers....so my apologies to repeat questions. Have a Fine Day and thanks.

Guano can be used pretty liberally - I top dressed each of my plants with 3 tbl spoons at the begging and add about a over a cup to my watering (for 10-25 gallons of water).

You can mix guano into your FF feeding schedule but make sure it corresponds to whatever cycle you are in. High N guano for veg and high P guano for flower.

thanks again gas. your knowledge is uplifting.ever heard of EPSOMA holly-tone .natural organics for acid-loving plants 4-3-4. would that stuff do well in soil. says 1 tsp for each 4" of container.will be mixing it in next batch of soil. used ffof soil with these amendments bone meal ,bloodmeal, lime dolomite, guano seabird, peruvian bat, some holly-tone epsoma, tomato tone epaoma, fulvic acid and humus dry. when i mix this stuff .....wait is this ok gas. i should water to activate mixture. how long should i let it sit .?? i am open to ALL comments....i dont get upset too ez so dont worry about my feelings. lol
