nop, but 1000$ worth of LEDs, but also +20% less power used, all in all I guess it will be about the same in the end, but I did`t choose em so much to safe money, more to have less heat to struggle with, even with a cool hood on the 600W I had a hard time in the summer months and I also feel over all more safe with em

Yeah I never thought about the safety factor. I guess I kind of forgot how much sleeping with hid's Burning scares me.

I would say the LEDs are perfect for the small hobby grower that just grow for him/her self and know s/he will continue to grow and of course have the money to spend, if your a newbie that don't know if you do more then a few grows or grow commercial/big scale I would go with a HID set up
