Bud Rot

Buzzzxx nailed it...make sure ( trim if needed) budding sites getting air movement.....only had that problem not getting plants down soon enough when wet season comes....those heavy buds hit the ground.

Getting pretty close to taking her down maybe another week or two make..autoflower, should I trim a good bit of fans leafs off now?
Everybody is different.....I would trim, put energy into buds at this late stage......l constantly trim/sculpt.....little bits at at time.

Sounds good will try it nothing to lose
I end up only leaving a very small amount of small fan leaves ( ones that are "locked right in" to the buds) for photosynthesis......which end up browning, curling up and dying. My plants are all done this way, don't harvest big bushy plants. I harvest basically bud my the time the process ceases. I'll send pick of one that's going down very soon.....basically it's all bud. Coming up....gotta go click it off.

Hey Woodsman.....here's a couple shots with my old, shitty Ipad......just an autoflower, but, I do this with all my plants......I try to get big part of trimming out of the way before I flip them. That's just me, how I've been doing it for about 50yrs. I'm not impressed with pictures but it's all hard bud.......ya can see some last effort gains going on, on the top.20210712_235043.jpg

Quick question about bud rot. I Cracked open a bud that has been drying/curing for a few weeks now & found this ⬇️ (I think it’s bud rot, but not 100) It’s only on the inside of the top cola. Can I cut around it & still be ok to smoke or is the whole bud garage❓If the bud is garbage is the whole shoot it came from garbage as well❓D4364315-E8DE-4DB1-A92F-9258BB8B2A6F.jpeg

This here is a great representation of what not to do.

Taking the leaves takes the plants ability to feed itself away.

Do cut off the leaves. If its not getting proper air flow stretch the branches apart and tie them to stakes.

I did final trim just prior to cutting it.....didn't think small fan leaves were needed up to the last minute........I really appreciate the hot tip..... I was showing comrade Woodsman what my plants look like when I (me) cut them down. Thanks Whizz

My problem, seems to be the wet nights and hot days as they start forming buds, grown outdoors, stealth grow so it's not like I can be there every day, so disappointing to be able to grow such nice plants ,but the rot starts happening before they are ripe for the picking? Any strains better for hot wet humid climate? Thanks for all the help.

Most Sativas …. They are pretty tolerant but may have extended grow times. Landrace are pretty mold tolerant.
Ambient humidity outdoors not sure what you can about that , hopefully plants are getting good breeze ( that helps too ).

That bud is garbage, along with any others thus affected

I learned to spot it early and cut out affected areas or lop off the top. I then use a qtip with h2o2 to clean up the area.
Look for an unusual looking sugar leaf sticking out that has an off color and doesnt look healthy, bend it open and you'll find rot starting.
I've had 3 tops affected on my current Gringo2 (ColGoldxWidow) x Widow) at end of 6th week and she still needs at least another week or two.
