Bud size question at 3 weeks. Not sure if they're smaller than they should be.

These are white widow x big bud pictures. They have been on 12/12 for only 3 weeks so I'm assuming they have another 4 to go at least.

Question is: Do they look like 3 week buds should or should they be fatter?

I'm running a 1000w HPS, ph has been 5.7 (I check it almost every day and it holds steady), nutes are 2 part Sensi Bloom with Kooshi Koosh supplement. Both parts of Sensi Bloom I mixing 5.5ml/L (recomended is 4ml/L) and then half that of the supplement.

Do I need to add another light to the room? Or are they where they should be at this stage? Or am I just worrying too much? I'd rather solve the problem now if there is one.

Thanks guys!

That's exactly what I would expect to see at 3 weeks. Looking good.

EDIT: If you care to go to my current grow, zip to post 62 and I've got several pics of what mine looked like @ 3 weeks

Thanks guys, it's been a long time since I've grown and this is my first indoor/hydro grow.

Y'all have calmed my nerves. I was about to rush out and get another lamp.

I would say 6 more weeks, They are looking good.
You can always use more light :)
My limitation with light is distance. If you have the distance, by all means add the light. The yield curve now is mostly light.

Even CFL at 300w, can give light stress. These are cool enough to change them when they are lit. But, if it is too close, I see the light stress.

I just lowered the reservoir rig about 4 inches and may need to do that again before end of January. The light height is fixed at 55" above the floor of the tent. I'm getting 2 inches a week in growth.

But, this is the minor light stress we look for to really listen to the plants, tell us what they need. I noticed this very early and fixed it.photo 4(4).jpgphoto 5(2).jpgphoto 3(4).jpgphoto 2(6).jpg

The slight yellowing at the very edges is Light Stress even with CFL

Mine look right on with yours. Do you have any pics of when they were ready while still on the plant?
Sure. The photos I posted before and this one are from my Jillybean grow early last year. This is at week 8 from flip on the nose. Checking the trichs, I had about 50-50 cloudy/clear, with no true tinge of amber yet. I was going to chop as soon as I saw a little amber, as I believe that amber is caused by the degradation of THC and therefore is undesirable. I probably had another 5-7 days or so to go. But a note under my door from my landlord got me concerned he'd be stopping by, so I ended the grow then. If I went by the time from when I saw identifiable bud (about a week after flip), the plants were probably just beyond 7 weeks, and would have hit 8 weeks perfectly for a smidge of amber. And if you look at the pistils, you can see some of them started receding back to the bud, but it was a little early. I went with a long slow dry and cure, so I think that ripened it a bit more. Delicious smoke.
