Budding, but no colas, how long please?

Hey everyone, I am growing 3 plants, in north east UK, if that makes any difference lol. I believe they are in the flowering stages, been growing them since june, with about 3 weeks indoors, before putting them outdoors, well, last month, had to have them indoors for a week while I went on holiday, but still, getting back to the point lol.
They are looking like they are budding, however, they dont have any smell to them as of yet (not what I can notice anyway), also, they have been this way for the past 2 weeks, and still, aside from they're growing, doesn't look like a cola is developing.
My questions are: Are these definitely female? How long before colas will develop? Are these definitely in the flowering stages?
Any advice, tips etc, will be greatly appreciated. This is my first successful grow (with the others dying etc). I'm still giving them liquid plant food, is that advisable?
Only once in a while though, the majority of waterings just being that, water (and rainwater mainly, not tap). I think theyre indicas, judging by the look of them. With it being early october, im really hoping I get to harvest before end of november!
Thanks in advance

Couple months by then looks of it at least. You dont always get big cola's or cola's that you have seen in these forums if that is what you were going by up until now. Yeah they are female amd yes it is flowering stage any grow video would of gave you enough knowledge to tell you that mate. Have you not done any research into cultivating marijuana? MNpt indica, more like a hybrida. Some look more sativa dominant then indica. Liquid plant food? Care to say what kind? lol End of November seems a bit of a reach its hard to tell cause I've seen some sativa strains go 14+ weeks of flowering. Have they been getting complete darkness during the night time? Even a porchlight in the back yard will waje them up and alter their flowering state. By the look of some of the leaves looks like some PH fluctuation or a nute deficiency. Do you check the PH of the runoff water?

Its not a successful grow until your chopping it down and trimming/drying the buds till then anything (and i mean anything) can happen.

I suggest you do a lot of research, theres plenty of videos floating around the internet and many many many books out there as well as this site, its a plethora of knowledge. But you can make threads and ask questions cause your only gonna get that specific information you have to actually read/study everything you can to learn.

They don't look too bad other then the "taco-ing effect" on some leaves......you may need some cal/mag. They must be still getting too much light to start a full bloom session. I'm guessing a Nov. finish at this point.

thanks for the reply :) yeah i know dont always get big colas, just want to make sure theyre doing ok, and will actually develop colas lol. Ive done loads of research into cultivating, its just good to have people who have grew before helping me, as much as reading can help, getting help from experienced growers in direct response to your own post is more beneficial I think :)The liquid plant food is wilkinsons fruit and vegetable feed, 4-5-8, 2.2%p, 6.6%k if that helps. They have been getting as much complete darkness as possible, bar moonlight, sometimes a tiny bit of streetlight too, but overall, mainly complete darkness. The problem I have is that if it takes a couple more months, which takes it into early december, the winters where I live can often be really bad, not so much with snow, but more rain, wind, etc. Do you reckon maybe bringing them indoors, putting them under a strict light regime, even though itl be under cfls, would be beneficial? Would rather continue the outdoor grow tbh, but anything I can do to aid the grow would be great. thanks :)

That streetlight is prob whats stretching the time out, might wanna try covering them with something dark at night or something to block that light out. If not it "could" stretch the time out more. Hell bring em in during the night keep em in a closet where no light at all can get them, that will work too. Then just bring em out in the early morning when the sun comes up. If you want to finish them inside thats cool just make sure you have a 5-7 cfl's spread around them but keep them very very close to the plants . The lights wont burn them just wth cfl's they give out too many lumens so the farther away the plants are the less lumens the plants will get. As SSHZ said could be cal/mag deficiency, if i remember right some epsom salts added into the watering/feeding will help that out. Its been a while that i had to worry about that though so dont hold me to it, but add some anyway it wont hurt the plant, maybe a half teaspoon per gallon.

Move them indoors, mate. Your freezes will beat the colas in reaching you. They can easily withstand transplanting unless you're a real putz.

i would cover them at night and put them back in the morning, but i dont usually get up til half 10 etc, so that wouldnt do them any good lol. wish i could damage the streetlight somehow lol. for cfls, i have 4, each 30w ones, theyre 2700k, so theyre the right light frequency at least for flowering, but i have been told several times the cfls would only do for one plant? il have to figure a way in which to block the streetlight, as thats the main light at night theyre getting to be honest. any homemade ideas?

Well you didnt hear this from me, but if you take a roman candle, light it and point it at the street light bulb the light will go out from the stuff that shoots out of the roman candle.. I used to do that when I was younger for fun, not sure if the flashing light makes the streetlight think its daytime or what but it'll turn the light off you shoiuld try it if ya got some roman candles around your area :p

dont know where to get roman candles, good idea though lol. i would put them in at night, out during day, but by the time i get up, put them out etc, there wont be many hours of daylight left lol. the weather recently has been horrible here, torrential rain, windy as hell etc, not much sunlight, prob one reason why they havent grown that tall lol

as much as i want to get decent bud, i dont want to have to get up really early to move plants lol. Ive moved them, theyre still outside, but behind a discarded couch. theyre not getting much sunlight, getting light, but not direct sunlight (then again, theres not much sun recently anyway lol). but at nighttime, theyre in better darkness than what they were, tiny bit light is still shining on the top of the plant, very slight though. Checked them earlier, the budding on one plant is going more purple, doesnt really look any different apart from that to be honest. If i was to move them indoors, would a few cfls be ok for all 3, or just for one, with them not giving much lumens out etc.
I want to keep them outdoors as much as I can, rather than bring them indoors, for cost, smell reasons, but if it will help them a lot bringing them indoors, il try to do that too

will they do for 3 plants, or just 1? im going to invest in a 300w cfl, dual 150w, different spectrums, wish we had loads of sun where i live though

Not one when it comes to cfls you want many, they have low lumens so you need them as close to the plant as possible. Every 12 inches away you keep the lights away from the plants you lose half the lumens (they wont burn the plant even if you keep it an inch away from the leaves). Keep your girls close together and spread the cfl.s around them trying to distribute the light evenly so all the plants get good light. The closer and more lumens the light the bigger and denser the buds will be. They do have flowering and beg cfl's You shouldnt need nomore then 6, how do you plan on hanging them? If you mount them to a board stagger them, I would recommend getting individual cords (fairly easy to get go to a yard sale or thrift shop buy old lamps for a $1 or 2 and strip the cord from it.) and just hanging them so you move them around as you see fit.

ahh im so torn, should i let them finish off outdoors, or bring them in? but thanks, ive got a few clip on connections for lights, and about 4 cfls so far, so may get a few more 30w ones, and hang them round, finish off indoors, if i do decide to bring them in anyway
