Budding with fluoro's?

This is my first indoor grow and fast becoming a greenthumb! My setup is 8 plants under four 40w 4' fluorescents, two bulbs are cool whites and the other two are ecolux full spectrums. My closet is 2' x 4'. I just transplanted to 3 gal pots my biggest one is about 6". My total lumes are about 10,500. Is it possible to take my plants to full maturity and get decsent yeild? Also my plants are getting massive leaves about the size of my hand and shading all the lower branches, should i cut em'? Thanx

Ya sorry no pics yet but soon! I have heard alot that fluoro's do not put out enough light to produce good yield!

you'll get fluffier, more stretched buds.. but you'll still bud up

at 6 inch i'd flower them now... cuz yeah they don't have very good light penetration...

i threw in 5 23w cfls to some shoplights...

first grow... fucked up a lot too... but still got some decent smoke =]

two different plants...

looks like some nice bud from fluoro's to me! was that off one plant? the branches on mine arent very long maybe a couple in. with the first leaves on them not very big, should i bud anyway at 6 in.? and should i get rid of the big ass leaves?

I have another Q. with flouro's is it better to leave them on 24/7 or 16/8? I am not really concerned about mass quantity but just to keep a steady harvest. I plan on cloning my best female and keeping 8 plants going at all timeswith my setup i would like to keep time as short as possible between harvests but still get good yield.

If you are talking during the veg cycle I think its a matter of preference. I like 18/6 but alot of people say 24/7 is the way to go. Next time around I am going to try 24/7.

well i have mine on 24/7 and i heard whatever light cycle you start them at you should keep to prevent stress, also does 6 hours of dark make them grow faster? can i still put them to 18/6? they are about 4 weeks old.

i'd put them on 12/12 myself

and do some major lst...
or supercropping

something to bend them down so that the light covers more of the plant
remember, lst or supercropping

no, don't cut off the leaves
if anything, just tuck them back and down in places so that more of the lower branches get exposure

maybe top them first before doing this... then wait a week to flower

what exactly is lst? i'm pretty sure supercropping is where you squeez the shit out of the stem to make it stronger right? the massive leaves my plant are producing are actually touching the ground even the ones at the second node, is that normal? they are healthy and heavy, just seems to me that they are just sucking up mad juices! you say i should go to 12/12 now even tho there is really no branches formed yet just one set of leaves at each of internodes? and when i find the females should i take just 1 plant and put it back to veg or a couple? can i clone as soon as it shows sex or do i have to wait till it is veggin again?

haha sorry man i already started reading the other one (gardens cure). wich is VERY helpful by the way. and your right it is fuckin loooooonnnnngg! haha and thanx again , so would trimming the huge leaves sucking up the good stuff (NOT topping grow tips) be no benefit to the braches forming at the base of those leaves?

those leaves are what provide the energy for you're plant to grow

leave them unless they are yellow and shriveled
