Buds are crispy to the touch in about two days of drying

Will this be a big problem? I put them in quart mason jars for one night. Opened and they were damp again. I moved them to a small cardboard box with the lid open and stuck it on a shelf in the same closet. The box was open but also had another shelf right at the top. The next morning they were very dry. Moved them back to the jar and have been burping them in the morning and then early evening. They still feel pretty dry. Should I keep the lid on for say 3 to 5 days and check or keep burping twice a day?

I know my buds are drying pretty darn fast. The basement closet is about 75 - 80 degrees during the day and probably in the upper sixties at night. All my heat from the grow area vents into it. Humidity is around 55 or so. It is actually a decent sized walk in closet under my basement steps.

BTW I hang them on clothes pins across strings to dry.

Yep, just keep burping the jars. If it gets too dry in the jar too soon, drop in a clipped MJ leaf or some parsley.

Also on the sugar leaves. I notice a lot of pictures with them still on the bud after/during drying and curing in jars. At first I was snipping them down before drying. Upon further reading and searching, this last batch I only trimmed the large fan leaves before drying. I then trimmed small fan leaves, and sugar leaves down to the buds. Most just clipped in half to be flush with the bud. Want to get it right.

If they are still too dry to the touch only burp once a day. That should allow the buds to regain a little moisture.

User preference; some people like leaving small leaves in the buds to slow down the drying process. I'd say most people do all the clipping before they start drying though. You absolutely dont need to though.

Throw in a small piece of bread or a small piece of tortilla....It'll bring it right back for you....then continue curing like you normally would for however long you wnat

You're not going to hurt anything leaving them shut in the jar for a day or two without burping as long as the stem snaps.
