Buds are fine, leaves dying on top

What are the temps? A 400w should be about a foot from the plants unless it isn't cooled well enough. Even if it is too hot, temperature isn't your only problem. Check the soil Ph. Carefully pull the plant out of the pot and check the roots for binding. This is usually easier when the soil is on the dry side.

^No doubt, 3 feet is too far away. Even if it's not air-cooled, it should be at least within 18". I run mine at about 14", without any problems. :)

o ok, i was always told to keep a 400 hps about 18-36 inches away to prevent burning, there is not much ventilation, closet cn get upto 90's

i keep 1000watt hps 2 ft above and if they get stressed i riase to 3ft for a couple days and bring it down.

Heres the thing, i feel that this is proably a lockout and this problem is going to spread. I would get cal-mag to help with the nutrient uptake.
