Buds growing new shoots

This is my first indoor grow. These plants were doing great and then I changed a few things. Just wondering if someone out there might know a few things about what happended. About 6 weeks into flowering, I added 2 green cfl lights so I could enter the room and see what I was doing. I also changed from manually feeding with Foxfarm to auto feeding with general hydroponics. I used the reccommended dosing for both fertilizers. I noticed the gerneral hydro when mixed at the reccommended has a higher dose of nitrogen then the fox farm did. Coupled with the green lights would this make the plants want to go back into a veg state? Cause that's what it looks like. Anyone go any advice? Thanks.

You have to understand that almost any light commonly available, of any color, emits light in all visual wavelengths. Usually some colored screen is used to filter out the other wavelengths, but some almost always still gets through. The question is, how much non-green light is getting through. In order to use green lights at night, you need to have a very color-specific screen and/or low light levels to be sure the plants don't get enough useful light to veg.

Also the higher nitrogen of the nutes will also play a factor as N is used for stem and leaf growth during veg but I would really look into the lighting and nutes ratio personally

most colored cfl's are regular lights, with green filters. I wouldn't trust those myself.

Forget the green lights. They are causing light pollution and reversal. Stay out of the room during the dark period.

Yeah hes right i had a green light in one of my older grow rooms that did the same thing you described i got rid of them everything turned out fine.

Thanks for the advice. I already tore those stupid green cfl's out and trying to cut back on N in the mix. Another question...will the big ole buds that started to dreadlock go back to full flower? They seen like they lost all their frostyness and got all fluffy. Let them go longer, or hack'em and get them out the way? Any thoughts? They were the two biggest buds closest to the lights and now they look even bigger cause of the veg leaves and sprouts. They have now been on a complete dark strict 12/12 cycle for a week or so now. I already hacked the other two plants that were not dreadlocking(growing new shoots) and there were right at there peek of harvest. Good looking buds. What to do?

Well i just wanted to touch base on this thread one last time. I have cut all the plants in the room that i was having the problems with. The first ones that i cut came out good after curing for a couple weeks in quart mason jars. They seemed to titen up and they smelled great. Orangy and earthy. The last set that i cut didn't come out as good.(these were all from the same batch), i just waited longer on the ones that were more fluffy and had more sprouts. Anyways, it seemed the longer i waited the worse they got, but i got a bunch of fluffy bud that i wouldn't buy if it was offered to me, but never the less is a pretty good smoke on for a rainy day, just have to smoke more of it. The plants that i have in the dark room now, mind there are no more grn cfl's in there and i am pretty strict about entering the room during lights out, looks much better. They are not reaching for the lights as much as some of the other ones did. So light dicipline is very important!!!!! Thanks for the advice from all.
