Buds no longer sticky....why? Normal?

At the risk of sounding like a total newb...which I am. This is of great concern to me so I must ask.

I made an observation lately with regards to the the way the buds feel. They used to be completely sticky. In early flowering week 2 to 6 you would just brush against them and they would leave a resinous film on you that wouldn't even wash off. Not the case now though in week 8. About 2 weeks away from harvest with White Widow and they feel pretty dry in comparison. You really have to dig into the buds, which are rock hard by the way, to get any sticky residue on the fingers if any.

Is this normal? I searched and couldn't find an answer to this question.

WW is usually sticky. How do you know there are 2 more weeks? Are you watching the trichs change colour? I wouldn't be digging into my buds personally, you destroy the resin that way. You really shouldn't be playing with the plant like that.

Yes I'm watching the trichs...and WW usually takes around 9 to 10 weeks. I really didn't dig into the bud like it sounds but the reality is they are not sticky like they were in early flowering. Should they be?
