Buds not growing right

I just harvested my first plant, and in the curing stage now. The bud grew thick, but not like what i see when i buy it. It's like it has more visible seed pods. It's not as thick as it should be. I'm using cfl's 2700k's, about 3 40 watts per plant. They are about 21/2 feet high by 1 ft in width. I just now got my reflective covering set up. I've never used it. My soil, watering and nutes are fine. They are healthy looking and in the flowering stage now about 4 1/2 weeks. Do i not have enough light on them?

You have answered yourself correctly. at 4 1/2 weeks tho, it's not too late to get some more light on them. cfl's are cheap, add a few more and you can at least add a bit of density to what you have.

dude not to be an ass but you will never have dense buds with 120w of cfls. you need WAY MORE than that, or HID. i'd at least double or triple the amount of cfls IF you can't do HID's. How big is your grow room? I would use those cfl's as side lighting and get an HID setup. depending on how small the room is, anywhere from a 150- 1000w. I'm guessing that if you're using only 3 cfls its small. so go with a 150w or even a 250w. you will have dense ass buds with those. I promise

I'm talking about the one plant i harvested. the buds on that don't look like they should. not to sound stupid but, what is the the HID lighting? Where's the best place to get it besides a hydrponic store? I'm interested in doing that since I'm using "under the hood" plug ins.lol They take alot of space. My space is about 12x6 by 6 ft in height.

Yep it's the CFL's - buds won't be as dense with them. An HID (or High Intensity Discharge) is what they call MH (Metal Halide) and HPS High Pressure Sodium) lights. You can get them at a lot of places online, I usually go through www.htgsupply.com - good prices, and great customer service.
