Buds smell like fruit

Hey guys, I just harvested my first ever grow which was a small outdoor grow only consisting of 2 plants. I harvested them and hanged them for roughly 5 days, than I cut all buds of and put them in brown paper bags to further dry, now there in glass jars and have been curing for just one day so far buy I intend to cure them for another 2 weeks.

Now the buds smelled great wen they wer growing since being harvested not so much. At first they smelled like lawn clipping which I read is normal as it's the chorophyl or some chemical like that found in most plants, so they smelled that way during the whole drying process, now that there in jars they smell like fruit and it's not like a nice fruity smell it's like a WTF they smell like shit fruity smell.

I've checked every bud for mold and there's none, the buds are crisp to touch and there's never any moisture built up so I'm left wondering wtf is happening with them and will they eventually come to life with the "proper" weed smell??

Make sure they are dry enough for you to snap the stems before you jar em.Gotta let em dry man or it will smell mouldy.Even if ya cant see it its there.

burp the jar a few times a day if they arnt completley dry yet. other than that i dont know why it wouldnt smell good if its dried and grown right.did you taste it yet

leave the jar open for a day or two then close it again and keep checking every 12hrs,open it for a while then close it again you have to burp the jar ..

unless your shit is already to dry and maybe it just dont have a great smell ive had bud that was good but didnt smell the greatest. if its rael dry dont leave jar open long or you will just make it dryer but if still damp at all id open 12 hour like kepitgrn said

Yeh I burp the jars a couple of times a day and it's def not mould cus they had the smell like 5 mins after being placed in the jars, and I don't smoke at all but I got a mate who's gonna test all my shit so I guess I'll see wat it's like after it's cured, the smell could be shit but if it's potent than it's no bid deal I guess

Strange. Id say burp it like everyone else said. Id air it out for 24 hrs and if it still smells like that then its one of a couple things.

1. The bud just smells that way
2. Mould

Did you smell the bud that you got the seeds from? What strain is it first of all? Did you buy the seeds or are they bag seed?

Some strains smell shit and fruit... I purposely bought some the other day that smelt of dog shit - just like it. Half of me thinks the guy just cured it in a bag of dog shit but if it is natural what a wonderful scent.

You need to post some pics of the bud.

My laptops away getting fixed atm so I can't post any pics, Ive checked every single bud like 10 times and there's no mold. My mate just said he smoked some amazing buds and he had some of the strains seeds so I grew them and harvested them and here they are smelling like shit lol

Dont worry about it. when i was growing weed the first few times, i was always disspointed by the smell, but by the time it had been bagged up and re-sold people said it was a great smell.. I think i was used to smelling weed i had paid for and it had been bagged and re-bagged tonnes of times before i got it.

My last grow after being cured still had a strange sickly sweet smell to it.. but then once it was all bagged up and shipped out it was fine...

I wouldnt worry about it unless it was a horrible smell.
keep up the burping and it will be fine, mine took a good few weeks before it had the trademark smell to it.

Yeh mang that's wat I was comparing it to, the weed smell from a bagged up 50 or something, i guess yhe plans just keep them curing for another 2 weeks and see wat happens, it's great to no I'm not the only one in this situation, peace mate
