Buds too heavy. Plant almost falls over.

Plant yo yo's. They can be helpful if you have plants reaching high up in the tent, but honestly, bamboo stakes work perfect for me everytime because I keep my canopy at stake level, which is idk, maybe 4 ft?
Yes ! Yo yos. I have so many. Bamboo is a great idea I wouldn't have even thought of it. Good luck my friend happy growing

I use plastic-coated paper clips and tie them to the tent frame with cooking twine. Doesn't adjust tension like a yo yo, but it's dirt cheap.
Genius. My problem (yes, problem) is I buy everything and forget that simple make shift ideas are just as good. Probably save a LOT of cash that way. I'm learning from this too and I'm not a new grower at all lol. If you don't use ideas you lose em. Lol

A good substitute for bamboo is fiberglass driveway markers...easily sanitized between runs...no risk of developing nasties.

Another thing you can do is take some of the soft plastic coated thick garden wire, and wrap a length of it in a spiral around the part of the trunk you want to support, then you can bend it in any direction. I usually don't use a scrog because my plants are all different strains, but I use that garden wire method to train the buds and branches where I want them to go. I can take a pic later if anyone is interested and can't picture what I'm talking about.
Sounds good for my application. A few pics please amigo..

Yes, those fiberglass rods work well but beware when they get older or develop UV breakdown. They can develop small slivers which pull away from the main shaft. If you get fiberglass splinters in your hand you will have to dig or cut them out. Good growing...

Plastic ag netting. 6 inch squares should work. Just drape in over the whole plant (assuming you just have 1), and snug it down till you find a good balance.

You could be my dad! About half an hour ago he showed up with some bamboo stakes I didn't knew he had lying around. As if he had just made them appear. The plant is now supported with three bamboo stakes. I'm glad I had an extra pair of hands to help me out while staking it and some people to think along with me. Thanks all!
Wait I wanted to be your dad!

Glad you got it sorted out. It's a terrible problem to have buds that are just too big and heavy. ;)

Whatever you do don't use twine, yarn, or anything with loose fibers that can get into your buds.
It never occurred to me that this could be a problem. I use 100% cotton cooking twine. I've only done one run using it, but I haven't noticed any cotton fibers.

Pics of these monsters would be nice :weed:
Since you asked! Had a power outage yesterday, so I wasn't really keen on turning the blurples off tough. The bud I'm supporting and where my arm disappears under isn't even the main bud haha. I also added a picture I took earlier today with the whole plant leaning over... It's an autoflower so honestly I never expected it to grow this big.

I'd get those tied up somehow right away. Pull the heavy branches up and tie them to the tent frame with something if you're waiting for supports to ship.

Doing this right now. I'm grabbing fan leaves with clotheshangers and tying them to the top of my tent in hope they don't pull out the leaves. Fingers crossed

Haven't thought about this and probably should've done this sooner. What scares me most is that the branches are bending from the base and not in the middle of a branch, so it would be hard to do this now, I think. If it snaps, it won't be in the middle, but straight up on the main stem...

Thanks for the responses! As of now I'm wondering how much heavier she'll get before harvest. It seems as if the pistils are not planning on turning brown anytime soon...
in that case, work your magic with the coat hangers. i had to make holes in the roof of my tent, to thread heavy shoe tieing thread through it. i made little loops inside the tent and tied them up to that, then i used gaffa tape to cover the holes id made to stop any light leek. luckily the tent is about 6" to the top of my tent to the celing, so not alot of lihght gets to it, so i was lucky, no light leek

Or if you're lucky you can find a pack of fiberglass plant stakes on a clearance table. I found a big bundle of about 30 for $5. They were all taped up so I think they came from opened packs or something. But I grabbed them when I saw them They're only 31 inches but I grow plants in small pots that can get 3 feet or so and sometimes start to fall over and these are just right. Plus they were 1/5th the price of what they normally sell for.

I wish they were 4 feet but these will work for some things and they'll last longer than I'll be alive.
