Buds will not get solid.

Hey guys and ladies. Heres my problem. My plants are at about 13 weeks of flower and they look great...… for about 10 weeks! They don't seem to want to solidify. The buds are just a bit too fluffy and they look like they need a few more weeks. I thought I had plenty of light for the area but now im questioning this. What do you people think?

Could be your temps, could be your lights, could be not enough fans blowing on the buds. All 3 play a direct role in this.
Could also be the strain, I've found the more sativa leaning strains just dont turn out as dense as the indica leaning strains, but even on sativas they should be ok if the big 3 are in check.

Sometimes it's just that plant, too. You'll have plants of the same strain in the same conditions and one will be shorter than the others, and grow slower. Or one that takes a week longer to finish, for no apparent reason. Does it feel ready to you?

Thanks. No, they dont feel ready and the tricomes are not as abundant as they should be. My lights are a Kind LED XL 300 in a 1.5x2.5x5.5 grow tent. I have a fan going 24 hrs blowing just below the canopy, temp averages 80 with a high of 82 and humidity at 57. I didnt top the plants, (3) and just enough LST to keep the sativa dominant plants off the light. They're in soiless mix with worm castings and get a 15-30-15 fert and a 0-50-30 bloom booster fed every third watering. (every other lately) I guess thats all the info I can add. Thanks again.

It’s your light. Not enough of it.

Has it been 13 weeks since the 12/12 flip or since they actually started to flower(form flowers)?

That could be a huge variable here. Cannabis plants gain a lot of density near the end as they swell up. Especially if they are sativa dominant, then they might just still need several more weeks.


Its totally possible its also just genetic.

Temps usually is the issue since buds try to aerate themselves.
Also sativas tend to be less dense as say heavy indicas ... even Genetics.

Proper airflow across canopy ( to exchange air and strengthen stems ) ...
Proper heat management.... light to canopy height and a few other “ stressors “.

But the the bottom line is usually the grow environment needs tweaking .

It 13 weeks tomorrow since I went to 12-12. I turned them very early due to the expected height of the Sativa.

Ok so it's been 13 weeks since flip, NOT 13 weeks I flowering.

How log did they veg/how early did you put them in to 12/12. If the plants were still pretty young they may not have been genetically mature enough to flower which would have extended the transition period once you switched the lights. Which leads me to ask how long it took for the plata to ACTUALLY begin to show flowers?

I'm not saying more light and environmental tuning won't also improve things.

If you have a sativa that is only on week 10 of flower out of 13-16 weeks it actually needs then it might be perfectly on track as far as growth goes. Though it's tough to tell without pictures. Sativas in general, as it was mentioned, don't usually get the same bud density as pure indicas. But if grown well they can still produce decent yield and awesome smoke.

Idk what is,going on,with you plant but,looks,like u may have a light leak or had one,at some,point that plant looks like its trying to reveg if I was ud I'd check n see if lights getting in or ur timer but if start over if I was u if its be going that long but I had a plant do same shit n,it will never get hard good luck on,next grow

Your canopy is all over the place. The light you have is not up to this task. Suggest next time starting canopy control early. Topping, supercrop or LST. Your lower buds will be loose popcorn this time anywhere from 24” from the light or further. Try to concentrate the light on the best tops now. Tie them together or whatever. SCROG suggested next time if running a single strain.

Thanks. I was able to raise my light about 6 inches and now most of the tops are getting all the spectrum. Big improvement in a few days. Because they were so close to the light, they were only getting the color of the LEDs that were directly above them. Some good and some not so good. I'll scrog next time!

I totally agree with chuckie looks like a light leak to me and with bud density too hot and over oxygenated is the main cause for that especially with tents you have to make sure getting co2 be they will over oxygenate the space fast and temp should be below 80 degrees with light on

Low 80s with LEDs please.

LEDs should run higher temperature. Mid-80s is fine as far as temperatures.
