Hello,

First time grow, have had arthritis since I was 11. Need my meds. Took on 9 plants . 8 made it to 30 gallons. Now they are around 3 to 4 ft. And are very wide but the catapillars came out of nowhere within 2 days. How can i spray if the buds are basically half way done? It says you can use till harvest but my buddy who txted me throughout the grow said theres nothing I can do now. Thoughts? I have 8 plants and they are covered in catapillar shit and bud rot. Im so sad i cant even look at them.

buckets of water, one with baking soda and peroxide, another with lemon juice and the last one with clean water to rinse off all the stuff in the other buckets, i usually have 2 buckets of clean water and make a line up, kind of like a car wash but for buds
after harvest tho when you've cut them down, something you should do if you grow outdoors to wash all the trash out of your bud

Hey man so you are saying that I should cut out all of the brown/dead buds and try to kill the catapillars and then leave the good buds even if they are covered in shit? Is the wash to wash out the poop? Thanks for helping. The guy i was working with told me its just all throwaway. He hasnt even looked at them. I wish i could have a person come to my house because i think i could still supply myself with rso for nexg year with this yield. Its just very patchy and has a lot of poop. First grow ya know. So yeah.

1) the wash should do for poo.

2) the brave souls who have smoked ‘pillar poo have generally good reviews.

Depends how good the good bud is, the wash would take off a nice bunch of the crap out and kill any bugs that were on it but I without seeing it it's hard to say tho if it were mine I'd probably chop er down.
It's all your preference, if you want to still make rso out of it after maybe wash whats good and take a good look at it and debate about whether or not you'd want to ingest it

He's making rso so a rosin press is redundant and bubble bags are unnecessary, when you make your slurry filter it out with a coffee filter.
It'll take a long time to filter it but you won't have any residual bug poop

Also think about the fact that outdoor pot has always got a bit of extra nature in it even when you cannot see it. How many insects have come, done their business and moved on as buds keep building? The difference is you don't know when you are smoking it like the steak the kitchen staff dropped on the floor.

Fair enough, just trying to provide more options. I like the option of rosin over RSO as it does not use solvents but to each their own. The user knows what works best for them.

That's what the wash is for, to kill and rid the bud of what's not seen in it.
I feel like it's a must for any plant grown outdoors

I would agree but no matter what you do there will always be some extra in the buds with an outdoor plant. Stuff that got there when the buds where 1/4 inch thick won't be washed off the bud when it is 6 inches thick, it's buried inside. Nothing that has killed any of us in all the time I have been alive. Hopefully he can salvage what he has, always sad to see growers have issues that are beyond their control.
