Build a soil- Blue Gold

Hey everyone, I’m trying to grow in living soil, in 5 gals. I start off with Build a soil 3.0, ewc, expanded shale, about 25% ffof, and bokashi. I do teas and top dress (extra soil ewc and use the craft blend).

I’m still tweaking recipes and working out my different types of teas forveg and bloom, and getting timing down. 5 gal is going to be tough for living soil to keep up but I know others do it with great success.

Build a soil Carries a product called blue gold “flower fusion”. Basically a bunch of good organic stuff that’s been fermented or whatever to become bioavailable for , what I’d assume, to directly feed plants with out the need for microbial breakdown.

I want to add into my feed to help out with flower and to help keep up with that extra food that the microbes can’t break down fast enough, being in a 5 gal and all.

Any inputs or opinions on this would be greatly appreciated!

Have you checked out the BaS 10x10 series on YouTube? There is a fermented plant extracts episode were he covers Blue Gold.

Thanks crunch, I just took a gander. That’s a really good video. Dude explains it very well.

Sounds like legit stuff and what I’m lookin for. Somegenetics are hard to do in 5 gals,

im assuming the science behind it all is on point? Any different opinions on it from anyone?

What's the NPK of that Build a soil ?

I wouldn't do 5 gal with living soil, most likely you'll experience problems starting in stretch. I've tried using smaller containers many times and regretted it. Especially if this is your first time with it, go with 15 gallons minimum to experience a problem free grow (as long as your recipe is spot on). Good luck!

I'm just here to be flabbergasted by the shipping costs from build a soil right now. Went to buy some simple bamboo stakes... they want THREE TIMES the cost of the item to ship it... I really like thier products but there is no way I can ever justify something like that. I'll be steering clear until they figure that out... I can't see them really having a viable business model shipping things with that type of cost. But I guess they have enough fan boi base now it shouldn't matter. Sad to see them go this route. Not surprising I guess. Rant over

AM leonard.com ?

I use them from trellises burlap Etc. Nitron is a DISGUSTING for shipping. I've used B.A.S. For the 5-10-10.
Take it with a grain of salt !!

The latest BaS 10x10 series covers LOS in 5 gal. He strongly urges against it, but breaks it down so you can hopefully be successful. I had two extra Bodhi Sunshine Queen that I’m giving a go in 5 gal LOS.

This. But with 25 gallons pots. And either living soil pots, or plastic. Solid Fabric should be left to the coco guys. its what they were meant for. IMO

Shipping costs depend where you live. I'm in CO and it's $27 to ship those stakes. But if I wanted stakes I'd go to Grow Generation down the street.

I do order a lot through BAS though.
