Building a Grow Room

Ok, basically i wanted to go to home depot, purchase some wood, and build my own grow "box"
Dimensions probably 4x4x5 feet.
My questions were, is 5 feet to short for a 400W HPS Light? Seeing how the HPS has to be raised higher above the plants?

Also, what would be the best way to make a door for the room, that i could open, but that no light would escape.

5 ft should be ok you are going to have to restrict plant height some though. Remember to include the height of your pots and the room your light takes up too. For the door get some adhesive weatherstripping it works well to seal out light.

kk yyea maybe ill go 6feet then because the pot might be 1foot also.. and then light is pretty dang big..

which just makes me wanna go cfl sometimes.. its such a tough choice.. idk

CFL's have nothing on HID's you will not be disappointed in the results over flouro's.
