Bulb experts pls help!!!!

Hi this is not a major problem or anything but I found a what I believe to be HPS bulb by the roadside whilst out for a walk, it has no numbers on it so I dont know what wattage it is, its a screw in but I dont know wether you can just screw it in to a home lamp or wether you'd need a ballast, I just thought... hey this could be good for a mini stealth grow or as side lighting let me know what you think many thanks - STELTHY

At the bottom is a 400w HPS and at the top a Clipper lighter for size comparison, I am baffled as to what the middle bulb is and even how to fire it up, am wondering if it would be any good for side lighting or even a mini STEALTH 1 plant grow setup for say LOWRYDER and auto strains etc..? - STELTHY

Factory/hardshop(where peeps like ya work) usually 400hps watt



but just by looking at the mini-bulb in the Glass chamber it look like a coatage(are they used?or new) i wouldnt say that but it might be Colormaster 250watt philip's? or a regular hps? but something is sure dont plug it in a normal socket u need a ballast i think


for the big one? no idea 1000watt? 1500?(doubt 1500)

Most 250w use a mogul base. I'm guessing it is either a 70 or 150w

take the bulb in a hardware store and they will tell you..

Hi dude it must be a 70 then cos I have a 150 in my loft just for seeing up there (not growing) and the 150 looks pretty much the same as a 250 only a couple of inches shorter, this one is tiny in comparison, and the base fits in a standard house screw in lamp fixture, I don't want to test it in case I blow it and I don't have any safety goggles yet do you think it'll still require a ballast? and would I be able to pull off a tiny 1 midget plant grow from it just fo a laugh?? - STELTHY

these lights can be bought fairly cheap (fixture) and make great supplemental lighting for cabs

I didn't know you could even get 50w HPS bulbs lol, what are they used for? I may put it in a bedside cabinet and see if I can make a midget stealth cab just for fun where would i get a ballast from for it ? - STELTHY
