Bulgarian Experiment

this would be to record the adventures in growing wild bulgarian buds. I am here on holiday, visiting my wifes family and checking in on our properties. We have a small house in the tiny village outside the capitol of sofia and a flat inside sofia. There has been rumors about organized crime using thesesmall towns and up in the foothills to grow weed, without all the attention it might get. the police here hardly give a shit about what happens within the city limits, but there is the chances of thieves. Last year a flood swept through this tiny village and that spring, marijuana was growing everywhere by the river. 100s of plants. At first i thought that this had to be hemp (industralized cannabis). As i researched the differences between medical marijuana and hemp, there isnt much difference at all. Most medical stuff has been cross bred many times to gain certain properties, like a heavier THC content, size, and flowering times. So still to this day i havent a clue if it is hemp(0-5% THC) or the strong stuff(10-25% THC) grown by a local crime family above the foothills of this little village, swept down by last years flood. My hope is with the good stuff of course, by my instincts tell me that this is wild marijuana that at its very best will have a 5% THC content. Thus i decided to just pull a few little guys from down by the river, put them in pots, and away we go into the beauty of growing marijuana.

i am using ground coconut husk in the bottom of the pot for drainage, indoor potting soil 5-5-5, veg fertilizer 35-.5-.5, flowering fertilzer 9-45-15, 10" diameter pot x 12" tall, and natural sunlight from the side of our flat in sofia (one side of the flat in completely windows). So this will prove to experiement in 3 areas.
1) my first grow
2)what if any buds and high can i get from this plant- wild or domestic
3) to see if growing pot indoors, using natural sunlight from windows will work

I will have pictures up soon, i was dumb at first and didnt take it too seriously so i didnt take pictures until week 6. I didnt expect to get this far.

i let this plant veg for 4 weeks, or at the hiegth of 14 inches. after this point i have been removing my plant from the light and placing it in a dark closet for that 12/12 flowering schedule. At 8 weeks growth (4 weeks of flowering) this is what ive got so far. please feel free to post, i just dont need to be told that this is a waste of time, you dont know and neither do i, save it.

Grow her out. She looks good. Damned lucky find. Maybe a trip to the river bank during harvest time :-) too.

I love nature, always finding a way. The thought of coming across a bunch of pot plants down by the river would give me heart palpitations. Good luck.

check out the progress, from what i can see and smell, this plant is producing THC crystals on the buds and the leaves! not too bad for what seemed to be wild hemp. never believe anyone who says "it wont work" or "that wild stuff doesnt get you high" because they might be full of shit. so far all things point to a happy harvest. sure it wont be the super grade 25% THC amsterdam special, but im betting that this will atleast be medium strengh. cheers from an ex-communist country bongsmilie

and by the way... i want everyone to know that this has been a window grow with free sunlight. im not saying that hps lights and all the fancy equipment doesnt help, it will maximize your yield for sure. but as far as personal, low budget grows, it can be done without. dont fall prey to the advice that the only ways to grow a personal stash is to invest 100s or even thousands of dollars. to date this has all cost me roughly 40$ USD.

looks really nice i didnt know sativas grew naturally in bulgaria. im in sofia i tried growing bagseed once and it looked very similar to yours but they were raging hermies each and every seed.

hi hello, are you still in sofia? send me an email. Im here for the winter.

the plant grew to maturity and buds, but the potency was very low. although the taste and smell was mostly like blackberries. it was an interesting experiment. check out my new indoor grow :)
