bulking buds

I'm wondering when buds start to actually bulk up and gain density. I'm growing grand daddy purp, iced widow, fire OG and skunk haze. I switched lights to 12/12 on December 30th.

Last three weeks, especially the Last week.

Im six weeks into a strain that is supposed to finish in ten and in the last couple days it just started to chunk right up. Never saw that this early before. So ya...strain dependant...

Try a product called bloombastic. Has worked very good for me.

What would be the telltale sign of them being ripe?

80-90%Hairs changed color and receded into calyx. Amber trichomes. Plant looks like its dieing and buds stop growing. You will probably get a few varients on what a plant looks like when it is done. Growing the strains more than once helps a lot judging ripeness.

PATIENCE!!!! Give them a few more weeks!
My last grow I waited until the buds themselves were going purple!!!..Just sayin'

What's a couple more weeks at this point

Wait till the majority of hairs have receded into the bud and turned from white to orange, calyxes swell (budlets that make up the bud)
