So I ventured to the local store and couldn't find any reverse osmosis water but I just got some regular distilled water will this work the same in theory?
Only issue with distilled is there is no baseline nutesnin it. Like calcium, mag, etc... you don't get any of the micro stuff. Just be aware of that. And never use deionized water.

Yeah I forgot to tell u I use that water with already slow release fertilizers In the dirt and still occasionally add some organic bottled fertilizer every now and then

Have you checked to see how much chlorine is in your water?? That can be an issue. I use a little, veeeery little, potassium bicarbonate to neutralize it. However, if you treatment plant uses chloramine instead its not gonna help.
The small amounts of chlorine and chloramine used to disinfect water will not harm your plants. I've been using tap water for decades and the water here has both chlorine and chloramine. Plants grow just fine. In fact chlorine is a micronutrient and used by the plant.

Some areas over do it on the chlorine. In my little town the tap water sometimes has more chlorine in it than my hot tub. Ive actually had to lower chlorine levels when filling hot tub.

The federal standards in the United States call for no more than 4 ppm's which is not enough to harm plants. I'm not familiar with your local municipality but most adhere to the federal standards. Here in Portland the target ppm's are 2.2 - 2.5 ppm's. But other water municipalities can be different so it's always best to find out what's in your local water as tap water can vary. But most is fine to use straight out of the tap. I use mine for soil plants without adjusting pH or anything. Plants don't seem to care. Now with coco I do pH but that's another thing.

"Target chlorine concentration has ranged from 2.2 to 2.5 parts per million (ppm). Once primary disinfection is complete, ammonium hydroxide (aqueous ammonia) is added to the chlorinated water. Ammonia reacts with chlorine to form a long-lasting chloramine disinfectant residual. At the end of the disinfection process, sodium hydroxide (NaOH) is added to the water to raise the pH of the water to approximately 8.2 pH units. The addition of NaOH helps reduce corrosion of system piping and household plumbing, which in turn reduces the amount of lead, copper and other metals that can leach into the water from pipes, solder joints and plumbing fixtures."

Just a little info here great value water is bottled for Walmart by NIAGRA BOTTLING they use reverse osmosis as they're primary process of BOTTLING their water... I've been affiliated with them for awhile now they bottle for about 75% of the bottle water company's here in the states and put their label on it for them... Just a little FYI you may want to know.

I also just realized that clover valley bottled water that I got from dollar general is reverse osmosis filtered as well.
