"Burst" growing?

I have been looking around and I know of no other way to phrase this. Does anyone grow in "bursts?" By that I mean - grow for 3-6 months and then stop for 6 months?

We are moving into a new home (in a new state that is much more friendly legally, but not legal yet). We will have a large basement that I intend to lock off. I grew before (5 years ago for about 18 months). I don't want to be "owned" by my plants in that I would like to have time off and I am only growing for personal.

This is what I am thinking: I should get 2 4X4 tents with LED lights. I think with 6 plants per I can aim for a half years supply in each grow even if I mess up 50% of the plants (which is what I am expecting the first go around).

My wife wants to hire a cleaning service because she works as well. I don't think she gets that if we do this, we really should clean our own damn house. She is borderline OCD about things being clean and when I clean things she still insists its dirty. But, I think if I can block of a few months (and of course say basement is off limits and locked), she can still have a cleaning service and we can go on trips. Of course, while things were flowering I would not be comfortable with a cleaning service. Either way, the cleaning service would only be at our home when we were there. I was thinking if we did that, we would always be sure to be cooking something.

Anyone else grow with those goals?

I think there are quite a few people who grow like that but I would not want a cleaning service there under any circumstances. I would probably try to figure out why I can't get things clean enough for my wife. If the problem lies with her perceptions or unrealistic expectations then I am not sure a cleaning service would be able to meet her needs anyway.

I grow in a spare 16x14 bedroom, I have it locked. I also have a cleaning service. I explained to them on day 1 that it's a personal room for my personal belongings. No need for them to be in there. If it's a reputable business you shouldn't have any issues. Make it clear that you have personal items in the house and that certain places are off limits. They run into this a lot more then you'd think. I e never had an issue in two years. Do research on companies in your area. And make sure your scrubbers are all up to par!!!!!!definitly go with a known company, not some cheap nothing to lose place and you should be fine.

If it's not legal in your state to grow, I think you shouldn't bring in a cleaning service. To many variables can happen. It's not worth it. If somebody cleaning is familiar with the smell and the room is "off limits" I think they would put it together.

Have you looked into autoflowering plants yet? Doesn't sound like you need/want top shelf bud but some good smoke.
