Hey All,
Sorry for the lack of pics but I haven't had much luck since the site update. That pic above is a bit on the crappy side and only started working a couple of days ago.
I harvested the Pineapple express this past weekend. It ended up being only 8oz, well short of the 10oz goal. That being said, the plant looked so stressed in that final month of the grow that I imagine I can vastly improve on this yield. The other PE plant that was in the flower tent with it has about 5 more weeks to go but it will endure similar if not worse stresses.
The stress that I think occurred here happened as a result of my hempy bucket design. Basically, I failed to flush the reservoir with any consistency
dunce
so there must've been a TON of nute and salt buildup, hence the stress for that final month.
As a result, I'm dumping the hempy buckets and using good ole fashioned 2 gallon grow pots. In a little over a month, I'll be getting in some of those new Airpots to try and improve on the op. So far, I have 6 clones in veg waiting to be topped, bushed out, and then put into flower in about a month, staggered by about 1 month each.
I had been running just a staggered scrog with only 2 monstrous plants up until this point. Now, that will be changed to running 4 plants in flower, 2 put in to start, and the other 2 added one month after that. Through topping, fimming, and LSTing, I'm hopping to get these 4 nice and bushy. The screen will be used in the flower tent only, in order to try and keep an even canopy so that each plant, regardless of age, will gets its equal amount of light.
I'm thinking that this set up will yield me considerably more. With those giant plants that I was growing, any mistake I made effected the entire plant. Which sucked a bit cuz I do make lots of mistakes
I'm planning on being able to pull 4-5oz per plant in this set up so we'll see how it goes.
Oh yeah, the smoke report! Okay, well, the PE is definitely the real deal.
Quite the "zone out" weed. The aroma and taste are truly top notch. Easily the best I've ever had in terms of scent and taste. But if you plan on growing this strain, make sure to have proper odor control! The high is great and long lasting. More in the head than in the body. I certainly liked it enough to run this strain through the summer.
Speaking of summer, it's only the 1st week of June and I've already been hitting over 90 degrees in the tent. Here we go again! How does one get cold air into a basement that has no windows without spending a fortune?
I have a funny feeling that I'm actually going to be growing in 90 degree heat in that tent for a couple of months. Yikes!
I'll get up pics as soon as I sort out how the heck to load them onto the site without wanting to throw the computer.
Thanks for checking in all!
