Buying 600 W HPS + MH Lighitng systems.

Ok im going to purchase two 600 w hps lighting systems for my new grow tent. I have read a million things about them and it seems to be no clear answer as to how many plants you can truely grow under these. I want two grow areas in my tent. Each with one 600 w light that covers 12 plants each. I have 5 gallon buckets i got at Home Depot. They are 12" round, So it would be a 3' x 4' area to actually cover per light. I also have over 20 cfls to use and more to come. The 600w light is supposedly 85,000 lumens per light for the HPS, and 55,000 lumens for the MH. So it would leave me with roughly 7000 lumens per plant during Flower, and roughly 4600 lumens during VEG. Plus cfls. Would this be enough?

I usually do 5-6 plants max in 4x4 tent, 5 gallon buckets. i have a 600 watt hps with a big kahuna hood. I would think 12 plants in a 3X4 area would be tough to fit? I veg 8-10 plants under a 4 foot 4 bulb t5. so I think your good with lighting, but can you fit 12 5 gallon buckets in that area? also make sure u put some drain holes in the bottom of those buckets..

The 5 gallon bucks are 1 foot round. They use a 1' by 1' area. So a 3' x 4' area (12 sq ft) will fit 12 buckets. MY tent is 14' W x 10' D x 7' T. Its very big. Already got the holes drilled.

Im sure i can probably pull off the 24 plants with the two 600w lights and an additional 20 cfls. Now i cant wait to move so i can start my next grow. Aint even done with the first. Still got 6-8 weeks to go. But this shit has now become an addiction next to my love of pyrotechnics.

it all depend on your grow technique, you could do one plant in a scrog with a +10 weeks veg time or 48 clones in hemp cup`s with no veg time or anything in between, but with 24 plants under two 600W I wouldn't do much Veg. there are also the option to Run a Veg/mother/clone tent and a flowering tent, and harvest every 8-10 weeks
