some pics coming in the morning...
glad you & others are up on the info about the C99, im amazed how you guys remember all of it, cos theres a lot of history involved, well done with your recall sirThat above looks a lot closer to an Org. C99. The FMS C99 pics previously shared looks to have a more full on sativa expression. (thin leaves) Soul said two main phenos existed in the C88 to C99 versions. One taller and thinner (more sativa looking, not as potent) and one that is shorter and bushier (more potent and tropical fruity smelling) Both had the meaty undertone. In all it is what was selected by the subsequent gene buying breeders using C99 (original or filial gens) to make what they call C99. Mosca said they used two different phenos to recreate their C99 beans. By mixing a grapefruit and a pineapple phenos. Genetic diversity is good but not like the real deal as it was in the beginning. It would be quite a feat to actually make C99 better through its own genetics without out crosses. Would take growing out a very large number to find a special pheno to try and work with to cube again and improve upon Mr. Souls work. Remember all of his versions were crossed back into the org. Princess mom. With out her The strain may have well turned out different.
Mosca also released a BG DTC99. Using BG org. stock and just selecting and making a f2 release. I picked some up but not used yet. Back in the day I tried some and it was very nice with a anise or licorice flavor. Up and stony but not as walloping high as C99 IMHO. Flavor rocked though. A little uncommon back then.
